s/o water question: how much water do you drink a day?

Anonymous
Saw the post about feeling dehydrated. Was curious how much water folks drink per day on average...

I drink one large coffee (black), and then 3 or 4 Perriers, so 51 to 68 ounces a day of straight water and whatever the coffee counts as.

Usually around 3 of my 24 ounce water bottles, maybe more. So 72-80 ounces/day. But I don't drink soda or coffee or anything else.

Probably around 100 ounces a day. The guy at work who changes the water cooler hates me and my coworkers marvel at the number of trips I take to the bathroom. Besides coffee and an occasional wine, water is the only thing I drink. No, I am not thin.

18:15 you cracked me up. I was thinking "gosh she must be tiny with all that water" and then you said you weren't thin!

Minimum one gallon, usually closer to a gallon and a half

One 16oz cup of coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day which equates to a gallon.

Can't stand any other type of drinks.

I don't know. I have better things to do than track my liquid intake.

Maybe 24 oz/day (3 glasses/day)

Probably 100 oz of water (if I exercise) and 30 oz of caffeinated beverages. I'm 135 lbs and always thirsty.

94oz water, 10oz orange juice, 8oz black tea. Total 112oz daily. I use Plant Nanny to keep track.

Maybe 40oz. in a day, max. i can't imagine drinking a whole gallon in a day without spending half my time peeing, and since I'm a teacher, bathroom breaks are few and far between.

120 oz a day of water. i usually throw in 16oz or so of tea as well.

I drink as much as I want. I never worry about it. I'm fine.

As a kid, I only drank any liquid, at dinner. It drove my grandmother crazy. I drink more now, but some days it could be the equivalent of four bottles of water (a little over 16 oz each) or two.

Most of us are drinking too much water and throwing off our electrolytes. If you are drinking lots of water, make sure to get enough potassium (which you can get in your food/drink like potatoes and OJ) and magnesium which is hard to get from natural sources. So take a supplement and get it through your skin by taking epsom salt baths or using a Magnesium Oil spray or lotion (really helps you fall asleep at night).

The myth is that you need to drink 64oz of water. But you don't. Your body needs 48oz-64oz of fluid everyday. But you can get that from non-water sources and from your food. So only drink when you are thirsty. Don't force yourself to drink water.
