I do. And when I am in those moments I feel guilty for not believing/hoping all the time.
But then the rest of the time I feel I walk the walk, am a good person and fine with my lack of faith. Though I am envious of believers who have so much hope in G-d. |
Don't be envious, their prayers don't get answered any more often than yours. |
| Of course. It's human nature. God knows that, and he forgives you. |
I always kind of think that it's god's fault I don't believe in him. I mean, presumably, he made me so he knows me. He knows that I'm a truly skeptical person. If he wanted me to believe, he'd come talk to me or show me a burning bush or something because he already knows that this is how my mind works. |

| Op here - this was intended to be more of a poll. |
| even when I was religious, I didn't turn to prayer. It didn't make any sense that god would answer some people's prayers (some of the time) but not others - so I didn't bother. |

God is not a dirty word. You can type it out.
That being said, God is not Santa. You pray for guidance every day, not just when you get into hard times. |
why? do the prayers add up or something? Does God take you more seriously if you pay more attention to him and are ingratiating? |
how do you know? |
God does answer all prayers. Just not necessarily the way we hope or expect |
Faith |

| I admit that I do this, OP. I struggle with it same as you, but I do believe God understands and forgives. I also think God is more of a relationship force than a guy up in the sky who grants wishes. Like any good relationship, I believe I'll benefit more if I turn to God at times other than a crisis when I'm asking for help. But it's hard to remember to do this, because I want to be in charge and struggle with faith. |
