| Not sure about prestigious, but we moved to the burbs in another state and H worked from in his pajamas making well into 6 figures at the Federal Reserve Bank and only had to travel twice a year. Very cushy after being a banker. |
So prestigious they left their own people killed. One of my colleagues (from a less prestigious agency) got a call afterward for assistance to rebuild, he gave them the F-You when he was briefed of security detail. |
Yes, that's the point. NIH can be prestigious for doctors, the Fed (not an agency) and Treasury can be prestigious for economists. Some lawyers parlay SEC time into a career defending white collar criminals. It's all about what your specialization is. |
No. |
| GSA has the most prestigious telework policy. |
|
^^PP
I don't know what the GSA telework policy is but I doubt it is better than the USPTO. Telework from anywhere in the lower 48. Rarely have to come back to the office. 40 hours per week. Great bonus structure. |
Then your perception is inaccurate. |
LOLOL |
| OMB, but a close second maybe DOJ/FBI. |
its the same. plus all sorts of computer tools we can use (google, slack, github, etc....) |
| GSA allows alaska and hawaii |
| GSA isn't prestigious, but they are the most modernized agency. Every time I go to their building or hear about their modern approach to workforce issues, I get all starry eyed and wish I worked there. Most of the federal government is still working on making yesterday happen tomorrow. I got in to federal service at a decent time and will likely stay in, but I would not recommend it to anyone out job hunting. The private sector has better pay and benefits for a lot of people. |
| I am still dying laughing at whomever put FEMA on the list a few pages back. |
| Federal Reserve Board. Hands down. |
