Good for you!! I would do the same! Congrats |
Why do you still work - to keep busy? As a divorce hedge? Love what you do? |
I love what I do and I work 8-4 so can easily make the kids after school activities, summer camp pick up, etc. |
Yeah research offers from AI labs are so high right now. Congrats on getting the job! |
lololol!

BTDT, it’s like a gigantic zoo. Ol Pejeta, Maasai Mara and Serengeti National Park. You do realize there’s a difference between accommodations and then the national Parks, no? |
lololol? because we stay with the team. I’m guessing your kids don’t play sports? I’m not exactly going to head to the DE Turf fields and drive an hour in beach traffic to stay at The Bellmoor. IYKYK why is my HHI of your concern? i’ve given you my monthly operating budget and we definitely blow through every penny of it..which includes many a nights at Hilton Garden Inn(which is a lucky upgrade from some of the room blocks the team gets). Many parents in our kids team have buckets of money and we all slum it when on the circuit I think we will survive . |
What does he do, and how long has he been earning that? And why are you so cheap? |
You do realize there’s luxury private reserves and concessions within the parks that are leased to operators and limited to a number of guests at any time, right? It’s called exclusive use traversing rights. Look it up. Singita is well known for having these. Or, just go to Sabi Sands or the Okavango Delta or similar. All private concessions with no crowds that operate as exclusive use as well. I’m confused how you don’t know this?? |
Oh that's sad. |
Hes a big law partner, 4 years into partnership. We both came from families teetering on the edge of LMC. We are young (I'm 4 years younger). |
This is the 2nd poster with big law comp at or above $7M. Is that normal? Especially this example with being just 4 years into the partnership? I thought typical big law partner pay was more like $2-4M depending on billings so say $3M rolling average. |
How young is young? How are you earning so much being young? |
It’s pretty common at the top firms these days (top 10 firms average that or more in average profit per partner), but I’ve never heard a partner of only 4 years hitting that. That would be extremely unusual and I would love to know how that happened as typically it takes more years to grow your practice to have that kind of revenue generation. |
I think they may have a flexible definition of young if they bought a condo 15+ years ago with their brother, unless it was bought in undergrad or HS |
