I think the best thing you can do is visit the school and see for yourself. It's really difficult to count on feedback made through an anonymous forum from people who are afraid of change.

Another current Holton parent with roughly the same answer as the above, though the quality of the education is dropping quickly as teachers and others leave and the administration seems more focused on fundraising than educating. If I had a younger child I would definitely not make the same choice.

Parent of an 11th grader. The quality of education is truly impressive. Tons of emphasis on writing that turned our DD into a competent and creative writer. Teacher support before and after school that has enabled her to build relationships with her teachers in a meaningful way. Opportunities to innovate and initiate with school support at all levels. The school offers a perfect balance between emphasis on the arts and STEM. We have found the parents to be welcoming and open. No clue about woke v. non-woke - these are bright girls getting an excellent education; my sense is that political leanings isn't the stuff of conversation/interaction. To keep it real, though, we are frustrated by the loss of the high level French teacher, hoping they find a replacement (for the replacement) soon. We have zero regrets about Holton and recognize clearly the superior education our daughter is getting.

Yes! I agree with the above poster. It is upsetting to see beloved teachers leave but that happens at every single school. Holton is a fantastic environment. The arts are top. The stem is amazing. The fact that these girls really are made to learn to write is a blessing. It is a privilege to attend the school.
