Current LS parent and we don't consider it a mess. We've had DDs in lower school for a couple years, with the current and previous HOSes and the current and previous heads of Lower School.

We also had parent-teacher conferences this week, and we liked how things are going with our DD.

Oh and if you've been following the GDS thread about the "incident" there, wasn't that LS? The LS head at GDS was former LS head at Holton.. though if there was a mess-up at GDS, I'm guessing it was more likely at a higher level than that. She seemed quite competent when at Holton.

That’s ok, donations are voluntary. Also no one at school ever asked why I donate or not. And I don’t like to talk about my donations with others. It’s private information.

As a family that was at another school that had HOS problems, I’ve seen first hand how a new HOS can come in and tear a thriving community a part with a good reputation. It doesn’t matter how good the teachers and kids are, it starts at the top and we found out the hard way about so many things happening behind the scenes that no one knew about until it was too late. My advice is to ask questions and listen before making a decisions.
