It is cellular voice and data that are down. Fios is fine. The map is looking a lot better - but about a quarter of those who were out at the peak are still out. If you want to understand what is known, track it here.

| When will this get fixed???? |
Landline? They dont exist, all we have are hard wired VOIP. I miss POTS. |
Everyone in my family lost service but me. All iphones. I just finally lost service 20 minutes ago. This is not ok. |
No you have a VOIP line which probably is less reliable than cellular |
My google home can find phone too. Apple Home Pod I assume too. |
I think it’s pretty widespread? Mine was out most of the day and still continues to be out. I am on Wi-Fi and that appears to be working for now, but still don’t have any bars. They disappear and reappear intermittently. I work in downtown DC and live in the suburbs about 20 miles away in Virginia. So that’s a pretty large area just from my one anecdote. My work phone was fine though. |
Well, that’s what DC told me to do: This is an important message from the District of Columbia AlertDC system. [AlertDC] OUC is aware of a nationwide Verizon Wireless outage that may be affecting some users to connect with 911. If you have an emergency and can not connect using your Verizon Wireless device, please connect using a device from another carrier, a landline, or go to a police district or fire station to report the emergency. |
Looks like EVERYTHING was impacted starting at noon, cellular, FIOS, AWS, Starlink? https://downdetector.com/ Im thinking its Taiwans turn sadly. |
It's something Verizon pried out of my cold, almost dead hands. I may have been one of the last people to have a copper line in my zip code but the evil empire refused to continue to provide the service. |
I'm not a maga but I'm pissed off about the lack of jobs for qualified Americans when all the tech jobs are taken by H1b employees and other SE Asians. |
I’m sorry I studied in high school while you were out getting hammered at the keg parties, Jane. |
My DH has the same exact iphone as me and we are on the same plan. He never lost service. I still can’t make a single call. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. |
We have a house phone that uses VOIP. We use magic jack for the home phone service and it costs $50 a year. I think it is very handy to have the service and I think it is dirt cheap. |

We are in Florida and use Verizon. We didn't lose service.
Relatives in Georgia and Maryland who use Verizon did lose service, though. And my brother had brain surgery today so it was a challenge to share updates on how the surgery went. |
