| I hate the gym, but love in-person classes. I stand in front so I can't compare myself to anyone else. |
| I guess I am picky because I have had some great 1:1 trainers, but I am just very wary of a group class where they try to “push” you. Seems like a recipe for injury or exhaustion over the level that is useful to me. I guess something like Zumba that is more skill based and easily led could be fun - have always wanted to try that. But an HIIT or strength group class seems like a recipe for disaster. |
| I'm an introvert and an avid exerciser. I mostly run on my own. But I supplement with yoga and the occasional spin class at my gym. I find that I'm VERY picky about instructors. There are a couple who I like and who I take classes with regularly. I dislike overly shouty teachers, or those whose music doesn't appeal to me. |
| They are so expensive. |
| I have some physical limitations and have injured myself in yoga and other fitness classes. Even when I inform the instructor, I still find myself pushed to do things my body won't do or that I can't do safely. I now see a trainer/PT monthly who gives me a home program and helps me tweak it as I progress. |

I like some classes, but I hate the rudeness of others.
People who come in late. Don't pick up after themselves. Have a poor sense of space. Or do their own thing at their own thing on their own timing. |

Yes, I find working out indoors so uninspiring. I feel like I'm being herded like cattle and it feels claustrophobic.
I try to achieve a mix of hiking, running, walking with a weighted vest, skiing, swimming, etc. outdoors. Swimming laps is the only major workout I'm ok doing indoors because lap swimmers are generally no nonsense. Outdoor workouts can be challenging in extreme temps, but I find that extreme heat is actually harder than extreme cold. I do yoga and/or weights at home on days when the weather is not cooperating. I just love being able to see the sky above me and breathe fresh air, but that may be because I grew up out west and miss big sky. |

I wish I have your discipline.
