Or am I just a misanthrope? I realize there are benefits to the instructor seeing me and giving pointers to improve form, etc. but I just prefer to work out by myself and avoid awkward interactions. It's not even the money. I can and have paid for yoga studio memberships but quit and am so much happier with a Peloton bike and some dumbbells at home. Plus it takes so much less time.
I cannot work out alone but I think most people in my circle at this age prefer their home bikes and gyms. It does take less time and less stress. Its good if you have the drive to do it on your own. I need the set time, space and guidance.
|
I just dislike zumba and yoga classes.

I definitely prefer working out at home than a gym or fitness class.
When instructors give form cues or answer questions, it really takes the whole class off track. Hate sharing space, weights, etc with others. Obviously if I’m single or lifting heavy weights that’s another story. |
I guess you are an introvert (and that's okay).
I have never been in a fitness class and my last time in a "gym" was probably a rec center in college. Just not a fan of sweating with strangers. I also have a Peloton bike and a set of dumbells and it works for me.
I don’t like working out at home but I hate classes. I don’t mind having people around, it can actually motivate me often, but I am perfectly happy not interacting with anyone and doing things when and how I want.
I hate large fitness class for the same reasons. But I enjoy my 2-4 people small class where the coach helps with barbell set ups.
Nope. I'm an introvert but prefer group fitness. I need the external motivation to keep going.
No, I love classes. I get a lot of energy from the instructor and other participants.
I’m an introvert but also a perfectionist so I want the instructor to correct me
I am introvert and love the energy from classes.
It really depends on the instructor. Many are poorly taught and not very good in my experience.
Much prefer working out at home with Peloton.
This is me too. |
