Stephen Miller announced today that the federal government is offering $50k signing bonuses for entry level "Homeland Defender" positions that require no education and no experience. The job announcement indicates that these positions are remote so apparently are given an exception to the RTO rules across the rest of the federal government. They are also using Direct Hire Authority in order to just hire anyone who applies that fits their definition of a "patriot."

better than the Democrats creating remote jobs for H1Bs and OPTs . much rather give work to US citizens. but to DCUM land that is immoral.

this is what Democrats and progressives believe in.

“Our goal is clearly NOT to find a qualified U.S. worker…our objective is to get this person a green card…so certainly we are not going to find a place where applicants would be most numerous.”

Why do Trump's resort hire foreign workers?

Not telework.

It literally says it’s a remote position in the job announcement. That means full time work from home in government speak.

Yeah. They must give you files and you sit at home and go through them.

Go read the whole thing. Also, it says experience can be substituted for education. Does not say neither experience or education needed. OP's translation is lacking.

So no law degree. What is the substitute for that? This isn’t the era of Abe Lincoln.

The job description is not that far off (except for the subjective “patriot” part) from other positions that have long existed within USCIS and did not require advanced degrees.
No college degree is something new, but it is truly equity. Not everyone can afford college, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be good at this job.

AI does produce a lot of "workslop". IMO, that's what these MAGA hires will produce.

Um.. would you really think the work product of someone without a college degree for this type of work is going to be "good"?

Research and interpret sources including immigration laws and regulations, operating instructions, legislative history, precedent decisions, state and local laws, and international treaties to determine adjudicative decision.
Plan and conduct independent research concerning the eligibility and entitlement of persons seeking benefits, employment, and/or legal status under the Immigration and Nationality Act as amended.

Does this mean that the person will have access to all of the personal records of someone seeking benefits?

This is scary AF and reeks of the gestapo. Yet another reason to call MAGA Nazis. Miller has some self hate of his family's background.

50K a year for some 18 yr old guy who volunteered (by force) to work at his church doing yard work can be employed with a "good job" . Until standards come back. gads.

also, without education, how can they interpret rules/regulations and inspect documents? Never mind. I know the answer.

Did anybody bother to read? Second bullet point says:

"The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity."

The full performance level is GS12. GS5's aren't going to be writing legal briefs.

They also get a $50k signing bonus to setup their remote office. Sorry y'all but MAGA beat you to New Deal 2.0

What makes you think these attorneys are democrats? Seems more likely they are republicans or their employers are business owner republicans trying to get the absolute cheapest labor possible.

When I first saw this thread title I assumed it was going to be for internet police, since Trump so wants to be like China. When I was there more than a decade ago, they had 100K.

Nah, that would take skills. Everyone is sending the Homeland Defender job postings to their failure to launch kids and conspiracy theory addled family members in the hopes they can handle a GS 5 remote job.

Or better yet, "Kaka"-stocracy.

This sort of reminds me of the Nazis where young men were recruited to join the party and hunt down the foreigners for deportation.

because they are cheaper

maybe Democrats should wake up and start supporting US workers first , stop the importing of cheaper desperate workers, focus on helping US workers first and win elections.

but for people like you that is heresy
