United Healthcare -Johns Hopkins medicine is now out of network

Anonymous
not at JHU systems, but over the past year I've gotten letters from United that my GYN is no longer in network and DC's pediatrician is also no longer in network.

none of my mental health therapists nor my PT are in network either.

i am excellent at filing for reimbursement and following up with United. while we are fortunate to have access and resources for a PPO plan, it makes me wonder-- at a certain point, what is the point of health insurance again?

I hate health insurance, which might as well be termed "Denial of Care," but I had no idea there was so much anger out there. In normal times, a cold-blooded execution would not be applauded, but for many reasons....these are not normal times.

Luigi may go to prison but his brother Mario is at large, and he knows not to stop at McDonalds next time.

Hopkins is dropping United Healthcare because of their frequent denials of care, not over rates. This is a systematic issue that UH will continue to do with other providers. I’d switch from them at all possible, and lobby your employer to offer another option, if they don’t already.

Notices sent today by Johns Hopkins stating that they have now ceased negotiations with United having failed to reach agreement. What a pain this is for so many people in our area.

Does this make them out of network for GEHA then too? It’s kind of annoying to have not heard a peep from them.

I'd like to know the answer to this too.

I have GEHA PPO, and my doctor wants me to have a procedure at Sibley. He is inquiring, but he didn't know the answer either.

Would also like to know the GEHA question. Assuming yes

Everyone should get ready for Health Ins to be gutted.

Project 2025 explains what is going to happen.

All insurers will no longer insure preexisting conditions for example. Maternity coverage LOL the party that wants you birthing yearly won't be paying for that care.

United Health Care issues with John Hopkins is just the beginning of the end. If you think Congress will still make sure you have health insurance from your employer LOL you have not read the fine print from the Party of Pro death.

Yes if you have GEHA then basically anything owned by Johns Hopkins (including Sibley and Suburban) is now out of network.

I have GEHA. I recently called about something else but also inquired about Hopkins and rep did confirm that it’s now out of network.

I would wager 10:42 is a parody of all the MAGA claims that the orange one did nothing wrong.

But I could be wrong.
