| You may never see inflation in official data because they will be manipulated |
|
What worries me most is that even if inflation were to jump to say 5% they will not cut down the tariffs because of ego. We are doomed. I want them to succeed because my livelihood depends on their success. So I have no incentive for them to fail.
Unfortunately these are very reach people with a lot of assets and cash. And they are talking among one another while we are outside the door trying to listen in I am really scared. If you are one of their supporter, don't blindly trust them. I don't criticize your choice, I just hope that you don't put your ego before the country because you don't want to be wrong. Now if you succeed and the economy goes through a boom with God laying job, I'll be the first to congratulate you. |
We will probably only see it in our monthly expenses and budgets. Every week I have to cut something else out of our grocery shopping to make it work. |
|
Some my divorce I have been closely watching my finances. I buy the same exact food items from the same store once a week. I compared the receipts and prices clearly have gone up.
Why do you think they want to us a check? It's because they know inflation is coming and they are trying to spin it. |
| Jerome Powell will turn out to be correct for this last episode. I think they messed up post covid as usual (but that's just the nature of the beast, if corporate America cries we all show up with a bunch of pacifiers to appease them). This time though he is reading the data they have correctly. Now the 2 governors who dissented in the way they did should worry everyone who is concerned about the independence of the fed. Dissent is great. But please dissent with your own independent thoughts not because you want to go with the bandwagon. |

Why did he exclude aircraft, OJ and energy products? I thought were immune to tariffs? |
Gas in 2016 was $2.14 and eggs were $1.68 |
|
The biggest inflation came from massive minimum wage increase.
Restaurants are through the roof. |
Restaurant workers are the most well organized politically. These guys always manage to get pay increase. Some days I wonder if I should work as a server instead..And tips are now kind of mandatory. |
Nope It’s from PPP ”loans” during COVID that were never paid back and flooded the economy with cash. |
The average salary of wait staff is $34,000 a year. So yeah, if you can’t find a job to make more than that, you’re probably smart enough to believe what you wrote. |

At least Ford is eating some. |

It's either intellectual malpractice or extreme stupidity to claim that tariffs are not going to raise prices. |
Gas prices will be heading higher with Russia tariffs. Oil just crossed $70/barrel. Honestly, our country needs like $70-$75/barrel oil prices to make domestic production profitable. |
|
We all are. If not evident yet, it will be.
It won't affect the top 1% because they can pay the higher prices. It will impact everyone else. |
