Columbus never even came here. The entire story we were taught as kids is a lie. The Columbus myth is literally revisionist history. Y'all didn't discover this place. Please give it up. It's pathetic. |
Libs: “We trust the science”* * except when science is contrary to our feelz |
“Here”? Where’s “here”? So because Columbus never set foot on Appleton St NW where I live, therefore the New World wasn’t discovered? Fascinating!!!! Tell us more! |
The Norse got here waaay before Columbus, and actually to the continent. |
So? They hung around for a while until they faded away. Columbus was the beginning of a new time on this continent by Europeans. |
| I think what the museum should do is go all in on displaying objective facts about the history of institutional racism, including the post-civil war creation of a murderous apartheid society in the southern states, systemic segregation in the north through red-lining, theft of land and other property from African-American farmers and communities, and other historical facts. MAGA simply avoids these facts altogether (which is easy to do if you don't look for them). The academics who developed the theories of systemic racism based those theories on historical facts for which the evidence can be found. |
| I thought Columbus was a Spanish Jew, according to new research. |
Don't forget raising the minimum wage every time black unemployment dropped. |
This. Also racism and hate. |
|
Do we need an African American Museum and African American exhibits in all the other museums? Probably should just pick one or the other.
Indigenous people day is also pretty dumb. Who even is "indigenous" anyway? |
Please tell me you’re a troll. Either that or you’re a total uneducated loser. |
| Wow! Some real human waste in this thread. They should off themselves. The world does not need them. |
Where's your link, OP? Here's mine. Nothing is being "dismantled." Why are you lying? https://www.axios.com/local/washington-dc/2025/04/28/smithsonian-african-american-museum-trump-dei |
Exactly. When items have been out on loan, they are returned to their owners. This is just more of the usual asinine lying from the left. |
So the Smithsonian is lying? You were saying something about "ignorant and duped"?? Get a clue. The Smithsonian said in a statement Monday that returning artifacts is standard under loan agreements. The Bible's loan agreement expires in May, a spokesperson for the institution told NBC 4. Smithsonian leaders emphasize that the institution rotates items to ensure preservation and exhibit variety. Any suggestion of alternative motives beyond that is false, the statement says. Meanwhile, the Smithsonian is denying the removal of other artifacts, including the historic Greensboro sit-in lunch counter and a stool. The counter is on display at the National Museum of American History, and the stool is the centerpiece of an exhibit at the African American history museum. https://www.axios.com/local/washington-dc/2025/04/28/smithsonian-african-american-museum-trump-dei |
