Is it just me or are none of the celebrities under 35 beautiful as the ones that were of the same age years ago?

Jenna Ortega is 22 and is beautiful and natural looking.

Jodi Comer is early 30s and same -- a unique face that is beautiful but still gives her a lot fo acting range.

Zendaya is stunning and currently one of the biggest celebs on the planet.

Agree with Yara Shahidi.

Anya Taylor-Joy
Amandla Stenberg
Florence Pugh

I know people will bicker about whether they think these people are as beautiful as specific actors from the 80s or 90s but there's no question that they are a beautiful group as a set and none of these people seem generic looking or victims of tons of plastic surgery (like actors from previous eras I'm sure plenty of these folks have had nose jobs and other tweaks to make their faces more camera read).

Even in the nepo crew I think Qualley is really beautiful and while less immediately striking I think Riley Keough has a magentism that is very compelling.

Young male celebs currently run towards a sort of elfin quality with these high sharp cheekbones that is not personally my think but I can't deny they are attractive. Just in a less masculine way than I'm accustomed to. They are certainly talented and compelling.

The difference is, other than Zendaya, most people probably don't even know who these people are. It's just so different than when we were young. Everyone knew who Rob Lowe, Cindy Crawford, River Phoenix, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, and Johnny Depp were. What's lost is the "star" quality because so many random people can be "stars" these days even with zero talent.

John Cusack, Michael j fox and Andrew McCarthy, Jennifer gray, Molly ringeald … as an example

Do we even know what any of these celebs' kids look like?

I think OP might have been thinking about people like Cindy Crawford vs Kaia, Uma vs her daughter, Andie McDowell vs her daughters, Kate Moss vs her daughter, Catherine Zeta Jones vs her daughter, etc.

Wait you think Andie McDowell's daughter isn't beautiful?! I've seen her in three interesting movies over the last year - Drive Away Dolls, Kinds of Kindness, and The Substance - and she's not only talented in these weird and interesting films, but, like, a plot point in each of them hinges on her being so stunning.

I'm Gen X and the actors I grew up with - like John Cusack, Demi Moore, and Molly Ringwald - were hot. They weren't airbrushed hot, they were real life hot. They oozed charisma and had real s** appeal. I feel like this generation, by and large, seems less like this. There are obviously good looking - sometimes stunningly good looking - but they don't have that kind of raw appeal. Or maybe I'm just old!

I thought Andie McDowell's daughter was brilliant in Maid. She's a great actor AND she's beautiful.

I didn't know she was McDowell's real daughter until after finishing the series, so formed this opinion without the nepo baby halo.

Because many of today’s celebrities are reality stars and don’t have the HW look.

lol. That is not gorgeous.

Agree. I actually just looked up a list of young celebrities and still didn’t recognize the vast majority of them.

Ah, because you can see those people in the supermarket and work. Actors and singers have generally been aspirational, either in looks, ability, voice, etc.

And then we'd miss out on music talents like Lyle Lovett and Michael Stipe, and actors like Mark Rylance and Kathy Bates. Maggie Smith and Judith Dench were told they weren't pretty enough but produced some of the best acting around.

I saw videos of a young Maggie Smith after her death and found her gorgeous. Not sure who would have told her that!!!

Singers no. But traditionally, actors because they keep your eyes on the screen, captivate the viewer.

NP and you are nuts. She is so naturally pretty, she could be an ivory soap ad!

The fake eyebrows are really weird.

I’m pretty old but don’t agree OP.

I really like that today’s beauty standards are much more diverse and don’t conform to narrowness about beauty when I was younger.

I also genuinely think many different types of women are beautiful.

Wow, that's some thinly veiled racism there.

Yeah it's this. Even "girl next door" celebs like Jennifer Aniston sort of looked more "distinct" if that makes sense. At least to me.
