Sickening video shows Palestinians abusing five female hostages

Yes this is horrific, as is the continued slaughter of Palestinians.

One of the hostages, Naaama Levy, is a 19 year old who was a peace activist in an organization promoting peace between Israelis and Palestinians. She is unrecognizable, beaten and bloodied in the latest video. The people sitting here rationalizing this, dismissing this, are monsters.

She's a soldier fighting a war, facing the normal consequences of fighting a war. You may not like that fact, but it's not dismissing anything to acknowledge that fact.

These women were all members of the IDF. They are legitimate POWs. A blockade is an act of war, don't be upset if the other side attacks troops enforcing the blockade

You can’t claim they are legitimate POWs and then ignore the Geneva conventions surrounding access to them and proper care and treatment.

The Red Cross cannot access POW due to threat of Israeli bombardement, including the systematic targeting of ambulances, hospitals and killing of dozens of aid workers. The Red Cross did have acces in November when Israel had a shred of interest in releasing them.

These women are more valuable dead than alive to the Israeli cause.

I can't watch/click on this..sexual violence is extremely horrific to me. Can anyone explain the content and context without being overly graphic? Is this related to Oct Hamas actions, who are the women and what is the provenance of the video (ie how has it surfaced now)?

There's no sexual violence. A few of the women are bleeding (I'm pretty sure this was taken shortly after they were captured), their hands are bound, there's armed men guarding/moving them into the back of a vehicle. They women are soldiers, captured a military base, and it's a video of them being held as prisoners of war. It's being released now by the parents of the women to try and pressure the Israeli government to negotiate for their release.

What do you think a bloodied female captive being called a dog is going to think when told, in English, “you are so beautiful?” Don’t gaslight.

He tells her the opposite, you are not beautiful. It is so terrible that you objectify these women in this way, use them as cheap propaganda. They have families and loved ones. Did the same to Shani Louk. Appalling.

But, sorry, doesn't mean we condone Israel's complete destruction of Gaza to get to them. The Palestinian civilians are just as important as these young women. It's all awful.

It is a war against the Palestinians who are not allow a state. Therefore anything the Palestinians do is a terrorist attack and not a war. On the other side Israel is a state and everything it does is a war. See this is why the Palestinians can never be allow to have a state.

Israel's blockade of Gaza is an act of war. There's been an on-going war at least since that started.
