| It’s more likely Arlington and Alexandria merge |
Crappy to talk about any kids that way, whether hyping or dissing. So you might want to own that. |
Neither here nor there. It is an average team. |
They will never merge. They both do well as standalone clubs and have diametrically opposed philosophies, especially at younger ages. |
| I know what it is, and it is earth changing!!!!! |
| If ECNL is allowing itself to be 2nd teams, then … |
They can't fully merge. Rec programs and travel programs just would not work. What they could do is combine -- whether a merger or not -- their top level. And perhaps on the boys side keep MLSNext and ECNL. We will see. There is simply no way they would switch to GA. They would lose almost every girl who could go to Brave and VDA in most age groups (with top girls to Union and NVA). For all the GA supporters -- GA is great but ECNL is still ECNL. GA is years away from having the college marketing program ECNL does. |
This is starting to sound like a potential comet impact, don't look up! |
That average team without a GA or ECNL program easily beats all the VA clubs. Lmao. |
Are they still playing 9v9? |
They haven’t beaten all the VA teams at ease because they haven’t played them. Point blank. In the last season that actually matters of EDP, spring 2023/u11, they came in 5th place out of 6 in D1 Blue with a record of 2-5-3. EDP at u12 becomes second tier. Some VA teams already left at u11 for pre-ECNL. Now the MD teams too. So, the only real VA competition is SYC in EDP. Bethesda is out (though Maryland). Loudon and Arlington are long gone. Even McLean etc are gone from EDP. You get second teams (ie Bethesda) and MD/PA non-ECNL clubs. There’s literally nobody from VA in EDP of any merit but Alexandria and SYC. There’s not even another team from VA in D1 which makes the claim of beating up everyone with ease puzzling. They’re not even playing VA teams. All this isn’t to say Alexandria 2012 isn’t a good team. They are. Very strong and well coached. I personally have a lot of respect for that team. But this nonsense that they’re the best around is comical and an inflated self worth when not in pre-ECNL. They weren’t in the top bracket at WAGs and didn’t make final. You can’t make that claim when you’re not playing Arlington and Loudon. And the SYC track record has been lots of close games. |
|
Let's be real here. At best in most age groups there are 2-3 girls from Alexandria that could play on Arlington in each age group.
If there is some type of combination maybe they have to put 4-5 on each team. Any deal would be about developing the younger ages. |
When do they play the top VA clubs? Loudon? Arlington? Richmond? I agree with you they’re not average. That’s a strong team. You’re not helping yourself with your over the top crap ignoring Loudon and Arlington and claiming easily beat them. |
|
I'm just trying have some fun but do feel Alexandria has stronger team but if were going to do a data pull SYC has beaten the best opposition. I mean back to back Jeff cups Wags etc.. |
