Now Arlington is teasing a big announcement on IG. What's it going to be?! |
New sponsor. Fred's Pest Control. |
Lol |
I just was about to post exactly what you just said. I am going to guess one of the two: acceptance into MLS next or they are merging. |
Unless it's MLS combined with GA, then it's not happening. Has to be yet another doomed northern virginia alliance |
They are in the middle of 2 boys MLS Next clubs like Alexandria and Bethesda whose boys program are already far more ahead then Arlington. It wouldn’t make sense water down MLS Next if they don’t need them anymore. |
After the DA split they went to GA and then left GA for ECNL. If they declare that they're going MLS Next and going back to GA, that could be the beginning of a market shift. Can't blame them either, ECNL national travel for this area is insane. |
Who are the local GA opponents? Skyline? |
Has to be a merger/alliance with Alexandria. Arlington is a dead end for boys, Alexandria is a dead end for girls. |
Local would be Skyline, and SYC currently. Who knows what's coming out of the FCV/VRSC fiasco. |
This would be very interesting if true. Several other clubs in the area would need to be worried All Arlington girls team need help except for 2011s. |
Arlington will never leave ECNL for the girls. Full stop. Travel is a nothingburger for the people who want it. The college recruitment advantage over GA is massive. FCV has been different on GA recruiting. Arlington would not be FCV. |
Most Alexandria girls tried out for Arlington last year when they lost GA. Only a few made it. |
Is it crazy to think they want in on MLS Next after finding out about their development compensation?
And ECNL doesn't like when clubs field boys in MLS Next and girls in their program. They prefer to have clubs in both unless you have a LOT of leverage somehow. |
If Arlington's top boys go to Alexandria for MLS, brace for a mass coaching exodus. Arlington coaches not sticking around to coach second teamers on ECNL. |
