This is … not the actual reputation of Gen X. Also Gen X created a lot of 90s culture that Gen Z likes to emulate today. -older millennial who thinks this is dumb |
But hear me out … did he have to do a year of school on an iPad? |
God help us all. |
Are any of your friends aware that you can live with roommates and split the cost? That’s how every other generation did it. |
But you talk about them more because a) there has been a lot of progress in the field of mental health thanks to prior generations and b) the internet has made the ability to disseminate information more widespread than any other point in human history. The turn of the 21st century has been one of (probably the) largest time of human knowledge expansion and globalization of ideas thanks to social media/blogs. As a millennial with Gen Z nieces and nephews, raising Gen Alpha kids, I have so much hope for these future generations. I was raised during a time of the AIDS crisis and don’t ask don’t tell. We were still learning all that “I don’t see color” nonsense that ignored systemic racism. We used words like “gay” and “ret@rded” as slang because it was normalized. We self medicated depression with substance use. The fact that kids are now out/open at a younger age, more accepting of various gender identities, willing to talk about racial and other inequality issues, and open to mental health treatment, etc. gives me such hope. But don’t forget who is raising these younger generations and what we have overcome to help get you to this point. And before millennials and gen x there were the civil rights protestors and feminists. Before that there were those fighting against nazis and before that those fighting against slavery. You are not the first heroes coming along, you are continuing the progress that was made before you. |
I love this! Rock on Gen Z! |
Go hump your comfort animal. |
| So humble. |
| I feel sorry for the millennials they will have to keep everything going until generation alpha can take over. Gen Z will still be in the basement never amounting to anything or accomplishing anything. |
|
Let’s all shed a tear for Gen Z.
Why they had to do a year of college from home. Oh my!! |
Omg do you work in HR or something? What a vapid response to such a vapid post. |
| Yikes Gen Z should be petitioning for an extra two years of in person high school. Not the greaest or the brightest. |
Do you have any idea how much work is out there right now? My boss is calling me day and night. Also, it has never been better time to work for yourself in this gig economy. Or you can sell something with scaling possibility. This people working for someone else is fairly new thing in history. Most people worked for themselves or within family. In case you or your friends do need a job asap, restaurants are hiring. You all can make $1000+ a week easily and get free food. Imagine two 25 year old roommates working 1.5 of those jobs and investing the difference for few years. Had you done that the last 5 years, you could be taking it easy right now. Not to mention having learned to invest. I retired 4 years into hands on investing. Surely there were mistakes made, but I learned so much from them. I have a feeling you went to school instead and now have student debt. You can work in restaurants or driving uber nights and weekends and still look for that office job in your field. |

Oh, no. Not having school from the luxury of home.
Millennials had it worse but honestly every generation had their obstacles. |
Russians are paid to troll; not paid to be good at it. |
