Co-worker complimenting on outfit

Typical friend-zone or verging on the flirtatious? Neither one of us is single.

Was it quick and breezy? Then it's fine.

Fine. I get compliments from random coworkers all the time about my clothing. I never think anything of it.

Drat - was hoping it was flirty. Don't understand the misogynist comment.

Girls comment on each outfits all the time-but if a man compliments you- unless he's gay I would think there is a bit of flirting going on. Most men would not think to make a comment about your choice of clothing unless they are hitting on you.

Was it particularly low cut or a very short skirt?

Not op but wondering the same thing. In my case it was a relatively short skirt outfit--the comment was just kind of casual though -- I like your outfit, it looks good on you...

Either way, it is nice to get a compliment I don't find it sexist at all...

Trust me, the people who have complimented my outfits at work weren't hitting on me. You can tell when someone is being flirty.

It's hard to tell without seeing the body language or knowing if you two have a flirty relationship. I'm happily married but might comment on a colleague's tie if it's especially nice-looking or something fun or quirky. Certainly nothing sexist or suggestive implied, more small talk than anything else. I've also occasionally had a male colleague comment on something I'm wearing. Not as often, and never in a way that was offensive or suggestive. Female colleagues and I regularly comment on one another's outfits or shoes or bags.
