Need a used car. Ltmd cash this mo. Bad credit. Options?

Anonymous
In a bad spot due to medical bills and past car repairs. Must have a vehicle to get to work. Public transportation is absolutely not an option due to child care logistics and inflexible work schedule. Nothing fancy. What options do I have? Almost desperate enough for a payday loan!

I would avoid the payday loan at all costs. Can a friend drop you off?

Otherwise I'd scour craigslist or the cheapest car you can find.

I think there are car dealers who cater to people with bad credit, but if you miss a payment they can remotely disable your vehicle.

Scooters are $500 or so on Craigslist

Thanks! I'll be out of this spot in a couple pay checks. Any names you can think of?

I do the reverse commute with stops before and after for childcare so I've never had luck finding a ride. Yesterday, I Ubered, but I can't keep that up.

Our last two cars were from CL and cost us triple in repairs what we paid so we're scared now. Hoping for something from a dealership so we're under the lemon law.

There don't seem to be short term (1-3 month) loans for low amounts. I really regret the last car repairs as it was throwing good money after bad.

They don't really do that.

Go to CapitalOne. com and fill out the application for auto loan. I have credit under 620 and they offered a generous loan, albeit at a high interest rate. You can finance through a credit union when your credit improves.

How much cash do you have on hand?

And what are the logistics that you have to deal with everyday? ie how far is childcare from home and work etc?

Have you looked into something like zipcar?

I considered briefly when I was debating going carless a while back. But I think the cost wasn't worth it and it didn't really work well in my area at the time. Not sure if it's more readily available in your area.
