I am a couponer, I generally get about $200 worth of groceries for around $45 with coupons. People apparently think that using coupons to the point that you pay nearly nothing is stealing.....
What do you think? |
I don't think it's stealing. With that said, I'd be annoyed if I was behind you in line. Do you do this during busy shopping times? |
I think that I wish I had as much free time as you do. |
Out of curiosity, who are these "people" and in what context have they told you this? |
It depends. Are you one of the people who uses coupons for other items because the company codes the coupons the same, or do you buy the product listed on the coupon? |
How much junk food are you eating that you're using all these coupons for. They don't exactly offer coupons for carrots and kale. Gross. |
I think you are a bit cray cray. Obsessive and what not. |
"I am a couponer". You could have that on your grave:
"Wife, Mother, and Couponer". |
IF they didn't want you to use them, companies and stores wouldn't issue coupons. Opinions are like sphincters. Everybody has one. Disregard the haters. |
I picture her being one of those people who take photos of the 32 tubes of toothpaste and 20 things of deodorant that they got at CVS with a caption "I GOT ALL THIS FOR $7.19, message me to teach you how you too could save like me!"…….meanwhile overlooking the fact that it would take my family 3 years to go through that much, and by the time we got to it it would be all crusty and dried up. I think that the extreme couponing thing is simply a weird form of hoarding. |
Or is this supposed to be some kind of humblebrag about your couponing prowess? |
So true. I don't know if it's because I'm pickier about the calories I consume and the products I use as I get older, but if it is not fresh, I'm turned off. I never used to be this way. As a kid I would eat it all. But now even unopened things just don't taste as good if they have been sitting around a while. |
Op here
I use coupons to buy canned goods, bread, dairy products, and toiletries. You will not find 25 cases of ramen in my house. I started couponing for just the toiletries and cleaning products, as they were adding up quickly. No I don't advertise my couponing to friends. My closest friends know because they are my best friends. The people I'm referring to are people at a store who see I have coupons and liken it to stealing. I usually shop at stores that are open late (there are maybe 5 customers in the store)and I go at around 9 pm so I can be out by 11. Only takes 20 mins a day to coupon for the week. |
What did you buy on your last shopping trip and how much did you spend? |
We just use the BJs coupons, mainly for staples like all paper products (TP, napkins, paper towels), laundry detergent, dish detergent, razors, soap, toothpaste. Sometimes for fun things like frozen pizzas or whatever. It saves a lot.
