Proven false, how exactly? Where are all the old friends of Megan who were at her wedding (or who are around her in general now?) it seems to be all celebs she's met since Harry.

+1 And easy google search provides the guest list and the relationship of the guest to either the bride or the groom. The list I found list several long time friends of the bride. But I’m not going to spoon feed you, you’ll have to look for yourself. If you got time to spread misinformation, maybe spend a little time gathering facts.

I don’t think she has a strained relationship with her mom’s family. I read some interview from her cousin and he was disappointed not to be invited but didn’t sound like they had an issues.

Also Samantha is a half sibling. That is not the same thing as an actual sibling especially if your parents got divorced as well.

If she doesn’t have a strained relationship with them, then why didn’t she invite any of them to her wedding? Also here’s another relative saying that Meghan cut them off without valid reason.

People, please learn how to be media literate. If you even so much as read the hundreds of headlines about Meghan Markle that are published each day in the tabloid papers, you'll see a pattern. Here's a made-up example to illustrate:

Headline: MEGHAN [or Harry, or both] FURIOUS AT THE QUEEN

Article lede: Meghan is secretly fuming due to the fact that the Queen seems to favor Kate Middleton over her, royal expert says.

I think we all know how disingenuous this "fact-checking" bs is. Picking apart stories for minutiae to prove that other's opinions are wrong is just well, wrong. Snopes does this constantly, find one detail to harp about as not being correct and then state the entire theory, article or premise is incorrect. You can argue about tiny details and not the big picture where everyone else is at.

It continues to reinforce these 2 are a hot mess together. Did anyone see the interview with Meghan's dad? Very sad, that man put her through college and seemed like a good dad. Still whatever her gripes it doesn't amount to being cut off. Actually her dad made a lot of good points.

I'm not a Meghan hater but the recent 60 minutes interview with her father is really sad.

She sold out her family and Harry's on Oprah. She actually made her father look pretty good at this point.

Both of them certainly seem willing to sell out their family in the media. No question about that.

But I think a large part of why she cut him off is because he’s poor, fat, and embarrassing. She knew the pics of the future king walking her down the aisle would look way better than her dad doing it.

He's not poor actually, won awards as a lighting director. And he has a nice home right on the ocean. She did herself in to begin with. I would have invited the entire family to the wedding and treated them well. Guaranteed Samantha etc. wouldn't have felt slighted nor given up the goods on the "real Meghan". She should have ignored her dad's photo op, quietly asked him not to do that, but let it go. Instead she compounded everything. If there was to be any embarrassment it was that long winded preacher that tried to use the spotlight, and her mom's nose ring which was tacky for that type of event with the royals no less. Not to mention she invited strangers but not her own family. She went to Samantha graduation and was on good terms before the slight, it wouldn't have hurt. Then send them the occasional update, and phone call. That's what decent people do.

Okay, not “poor” necessarily then, but he didn’t represent the socioeconomic class values that she wanted to represent. (Also, winning professional awards doesn’t mean you have money. Neither does having a small home on the beach in Mexico.) But you make some good points. Agree that inviting A-list strangers but only a single family member is extremely questionable.

He travels between Mexico and LA where he has another home. Also, Meghan has nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles on both sides. What about Doria's side? It would have made her look 100% better if she had her family there. She could afford to wine and dine them instead of snubbing them. They were blindsided and hurt understandably. While I don't agree with how much her sister has spoken out, it was pretty cold. Samantha says she's probably embarrassed because she's in a wheel chair. Don't many of us have embarrassing family members? My DH has quite a few, but still he treats them well. I wonder if she regrets her actions, it certainly caused a media storm which keeps continuing.

She hasn't spoken to Samantha in like 20 years. Seriously that isn't a snub its called like, not pretending someone is close to you just to get media points.

I'm pretty sure Meghan isn't close to Idris Elba, Oprah, George and Amal Clooney, James Corden, James blunt, and don't forget Nacho Figueras the famous polo player...among many others! Seriously think about it. A ton of famous people were invited yet left out 99% of her family from both sides. I'm glad her sister has called her out. I've looked up some of her accusations, and 99% she has been correct. Meghan made a speech at a university and claimed she made it through from working and grants. The real story was her dad paid for it. Her lack of character has been the problem all along.

Yeah those of you with great families really seem to feel like this means something. Those of us with difficult families understand nuance. She's close to the person who raised her. She has a close and loyal group of friends. We see two different stories when looking at those facts and I doubt either of us will convince the other we are right.

DP. She wasn't close to her mother until the past few years. And she was raised by both her mother and father, they had an apparently amicable divorce and split custody.

But yes, she's definitely a victim of all those mean family members. Except for Elizabeth. She's nice...

How do you know any of this? I just don't believe we have any way of gauging the truth of her upbringing. There is no narrator that isn't self serving in some way on this. They divorced amicably but she bounced back and forth between their houses most of her childhood. They divorced when she was 2 and she likely has absolutely no memory of living or spending any substantial time with her half siblings. We just have no idea about any of this. It sounds like her parents were crappy parents and mostly focused on themselves. Her dad left his first family to go pursue the hollywood dream and then just dragged her along still doing it.

I felt like it was telling that SO MANY of the suits cast and crew were at the wedding and spoke highly of her.

DP. Of course other celebrities want to be in her good graces now that she is married to Harry and is tight with Oprah. There’s nothing surprising about that.

Also her dad has shared a good deal of evidence from not so long ago of Meghan praising his parenting and telling him how much she loves and is grateful for him (e.g., long, personal messages in her cards to him). Why was she saying those things to him if they weren’t true?

I would have said stuff like that over the years about my parents. People say a lot of things to keep the peace and when they are kids and don't have a full grasp on the decisions their parents were making at the time. What kind of parent trots out examples of their kid praising them to the public? Perhaps one that wanted to be praised enoguh to push it.

Let’s not forget all her posts on her blog The Tig praising her daddy. She seemed to have a close, good relationship with him until shortly before the wedding. What is telling is that she never introduced Harry to him, even before his media shenanigans. I think Meghan loved her dad but was embarrassed of him. He is a Hollywood blue-collar type who would likely stand out like a sore thumb in Royal crowds. Meghan knew this, and dreaded introducing him to her new family. Luckily for her, he couldn’t help being himself and talking to the media (much as Meghan can’t help herself!). This gave her an excuse to cut him out of her life. She then could avoid introducing Thomas to the Queen (can you imagine that scene?!).

I do think how she’s treated her father is highly indicative of who she really is. She’ll climb over and cut off anyone who doesn’t help her get where she thinks she should be. She’s guilty of the exact same thing she cut off her dad for.

There are two concrete claims in that article amidst a bunch of sensationalized assumptions

1) Meghan will be at the unveiling, which seems like a good and normal thing
2) Lilibet will not be making the trip, which to me is actually a little surprising

100% this. To this day Harry has not met her father - at least not publicly acknowledged - can't say for sure. It's not like he's a murderer or anything he's just not "good" enough.
