How much do you save for college each month and what is your childcare costs?

Please include HHI. We are trying to get a basis if we are over spending.

We put 10,000 into each child's account once a year when my husband gets his bonus. My parents also gift the kids trust funds at their birthday 10k each year. Our HHI is about 300k (it varies as he is in sales) and we also get gifted an annual disbursement from my trust fund of $56,000/year. Yes, we are incredibly grateful.

We'll probably make you feel better about what you're spending. It's by FAR our biggest expenditure. Full time nanny for 2 kids ~$5k/mo. This includes health insurance and employer taxes.

For 529s, we put away $675/mo and put a lump sum of $10k in when I get my bonus. We know we're very aggressive in saving for 529s and hope to have college savings done early. Our HHI is $330k.

I will learn from this thread. Could you also include ages of your kids. I am putting away $650/month for my 7 year old and each year I add any lump sum increases, about $5k/year.

Thanks
