Pls recommend peanut butter other than Skippy or JIF

Anonymous
I tried some organic natural one in WF. It was awful. Before I randomly select and buy more, I'd like to get suggestions. My peanut butter palate is not sophisticated at all but I am not enjoying Skippy or Jif anymore, esp after getting pregnant. I'm in my third trimester so this is not morning sickness change of tastebuds. Thanks!

I like Adams peanut butter. It is natural, so the oils rise to the top of the jar - you have to stir the oils back in when you open the jar.

My DD has food allergies (not to nuts) but we avoid any corn products like high fructose corn syrup. I was always a Jif fan but not after trying her PB!

We get the Natures Promise brand at Giant (I know lol) but its sooo good. There is not that fake sweet taste and its really creamy and not salty. I cannot go back to Jif ever again...its nauseating.

Wegmans house brand is my go to PB

Maybe try the natural version of Jif. The "real" natural ones are straight up peanuts (and salt). The no-stir natural ones have added stuff that might make you like it better.

I prefer Smuckers or Crazy Richard's natural, but it is a true natural with the oil.

They still make that? We used to get the little buckets as a kid!

Keep trying the WF one--assuming it was healthier than other options. My mom is a tried-and-true processed PB gal, but when we visit her house, I always buy a jar of natural, organic PB. Slowly, the more times she has tried it, she has grown to like it. On our most recent visit, I actually saw her choose it over the processed PB. I don't remember when or how I started eating it, but I definitely can't go back to Skippy or Jif at this point.

Some acquired tastes--coffee, beer, and natural PB--have become the cornerstones of my diet.

Hands down, the very best 'natural' type peanut butter I have found is the Once Again brand. They sell organic and regular. And you have to make sure you get the one that is NOT unsweetened. There is not that much sugar in the 'regular' peanut butter, but is vastly superior to the unsweetened pb.

They used to sell it at Whole Foods, but I haven't seen it there in a while. I buy it from Mom's. It is quite good.

The Smucker's Natural pb is also decent, but Once Again is the best.

Hands down, the best one is Smuckers Natural. The ingredients on teh label: Peanuts.

You have to stir the oil, but if you store your unopened jars upside down, it's easier.

Santa Cruz brand

Don't buy the ones you don't have to stir. They add palm oils to it for that effect, and it's not good for you.

Smuckers. Trader Joe brand.

I like Trader Joe's Valencia pb (with salt added). The oils don't re-separate as badly as other natural brands once you open it. I can't stomach any pb with anything other than peanuts and salt in it anymore since I switched to natural.

Crazy Richards is the best - natural, tastes great, readily available (giant, safeway), and not expensive.

I like Smuckers Natural because it is just peanuts. You do have to stir it up first though.
