Did your teen son travel south on Wisconsin Ave in front of best buy today by bus around 6pm?

Anonymous
If your son was in tenleytown around 6pm waiting for the bus with another boy and two girls--going south - then ask if he or his friend was playing catch with rocks and then throwing them in the direction of passing cars.

Boy I saw throwing the rocks appeared to be about 12-14 years old, about 5'3-5'5, medium build, shorts, back-pack. Hispanic / dark skin. Maybe curly / poofier hair (I.e., not close cut).

I was about to call the cops but figured by the time they got to the site the kids would be gone. I considered taking a video to share with principal Albright but didn't want to put myself that close to these boys.

If you think this could have been your child, please talk to them. They should need to hit the car and you have to pay for it one way or another or worse someone gets very hurt.

Autocorrect - they just need to hit a car...

I love the fact that you think this is a child who attends Deal.

6 pm? Tenleytown? You know school gets out at 3:15 right? Free metro now? Hmmmmm.....

I'm surprised you didn't see any cops-- Tenleytown is usually crawling with them.
I would have called 911 anyway. They can probably get cops there pretty quickly and/or flag the bus that the kids got on.

I love how you assume it must NOT be a kid who attends Deal. Like kids don't hang out after school (for extracurricular activities or just hanging out with friends)? Also, no, the Metro is not FREE now. Kids get up to $100/month, which doesn't even cover fare to/from school for lots of kids. And what? Has Tenleytown suddenly become a cool place for teens from other parts of the city to hang out? Seems like they'd rather be in Columbia Heights or Chinatown.

And just like that the thread has been highjacked. Down the rabbit hole we go again... Oh Alice!

Sidwell and GDS are right on Wisc too. Or maybe it is a giant Janney kid, they grow them big there.

Really OP. Unclench. Bad kids are everywhere.

No your wrong. The $100 initiative has gone away. All kids get the unlimited monthly passes added to their DCone cards.

I grew up here. I don't believe in NoMa or Hill East, either, sweetie

I call it Chinablock since it's so dinky.

Uhh everyone

You're right - probably not a deal student because clubs have not started yet and they end at 4:30, which would mean a lot of loitering time. So probably a Wilson or gds student.

In any case a child who made some poor choices today. I regret not calling police so his mother could find out and talk to him.
