So Duck Donuts opened last week and the lines are around the corner! We finally got to try them today. OMG .....UNBELIEVABLE! So delicious.
Had to share
|
| I just Googled. There are Duck Donuts in NoVa now???? Tempted to drive to Fairfax from MoCo. I didn't make it to the beach this year. |
| Yup. I am in Bristow and it opened here last week. The line has been down the block. So worth it! |
| I feel like such a freak because everyone loves these and I can't eat them. They are like leaden, sodden hockey pucks. The cake donut is heavy to begin with but they soak it in glaze while it's still hot and sopping with grease and you can't even hold them up to bite without them falling apart under their own weight. I don't understand the appeal! |
| One is opening in the Lee-Harrison center in Arlington this fall! Can't wait. |
| Are Duck Donuts like Fractured Prune? Just had those at the beach, and I wasn't impressed. I'd prefer Baskin Robbins to still be in Arlington. |
| There is one in Herndon. They're pretty good. |
|
There's a Fractured Prune in Rockville Town Center.
I find both those and Duck Donuts to be pretty heavy. Fun once a year on vacation, but not a to-die-for thing, or a regular one. |
|
Donuts are the new Cupcake which was the new Fro-Yo.
|
| Definitely a once-a-year beach treat versus everyday! I don't eve like them once a year but the family does. |
If that's actually true, then I expect more creativity and gourmet reach than a plain donut drenched in vanilla frosting with a bunch of coconut or sprinkles on it. |
+1 |
I wonder what's going to be next. Funnel cake? |
| Are they better than Sugar Shack? |
Fractured Prune in Rockville is closed - just an FYI to those who don't know. |
