Stinky boss

Boss smells. What should we do?

How big of a company? Can someone talk to HR and have them talk to him/her? Do you sit in a shared area? How close to boss are you regularly? Can you use one of those scentsy wax warmers to make the area smell like something else?

Sounds like something the second line supervisor (his boss) should take care of?

Op here
Big organization. Only noticeable in meetings. Boss office does not smell

You aren't in a position to say anything. My old boss had bad breathe. I just sat a couple seats away and put up with it when we were walking & talking.

Agree, I don't think there is anything you can (or should) do about this

Put menthol on your upper lip.

Send anon email to them. There are websites that will do this for you. Or, print out a note at home (not on company printer) and if there are no cameras, put it on Boss's chair when they're not there.

Ugh. Hate to ask, but what is the smell and from where is it emanating? BO? Bad breath? Dirty clothes? Generally poor personal hygiene? Overweight? As in bacteria in folds smell?

Any chance it is diet related? Health related?

I'll try to help based on your answer.

13:54 back to say that it drives me crazy when younger students get a cursory talk about hygiene at school. It's always the same, "shower daily" and maybe, there's a mention of deodorant. That's insufficient.

You can't shower the night before and then get dressed and roll into work. Sorry, most adults can't and shouldn't. Shower and hair washed in a.m., use deodorant and wear head-to-toe clean clothes. At the very least with dry clean only clothes, air out and make sure they haven't held odors.

OP, I shower 2x a day but by the time I walk the 10 minutes to work, I stink. I do what I can and I want to move north because I hate the summer so much, but what can I do? We don't have showers at work. I also just sweat a lot so if I have an important meeting, I sweat and then stink. It's the WORST.

PP quoted and I should have clarified hat of course, there are exceptions. I've done it myself. However, I am middle aged, female and going through menopause so I am sweaty at night. I am compelled to take a fast, cool shower in the a.m.

And, I'll be honest, if this is your routine to only ever shower the night before, then at let have the courtesy to make certain that your hair is clean and that you smell fresh. I am cursed with a keen sense of smell and let's just say that I know who in my office showers the night before or has skipped, entirely. Also, I have a teen DD with such oily hair and skin that washing her hair at night is insufficient. Her hair will be a greasy mess by mid day.

One of the 9 people I supervise has pretty bad (but not godawful) B.O. (Not a customer-facing position.). Also the only male of color on our whole team.

There's no way in heck I'm ever saying anything.
