Is there any reason to dislike Herschel Walker?

Herschel wants to make you leave the country or deprive you of the right to vote if you’re between 18 and 31.

If Herschel hadn’t done the things he did between the ages of 18 and 31 No one would have heard of him.

How many future voters has this clown spawned? And he wants to tell them to all get lost if they think there are changes that should be made?

This is one of the goofiest things I’ve heard a politician say.

HW is hard to support. I voted for him but not because I wanted to. I did it for GOP control of the Senate. Warnock seems relatively benign but his campaign isnt really helping. I see/hear nothing about him despite living in a swing district, and when I looked him up on the internet, most of his campaign is 1) "I voted for the inflation reduction act" and 2) "I want to expand healthcare and cap the cost of insulin."

On the first point, this isnt compelling because he is making himself just a Dem seat instead of offering more. And, I'm not a fan of the IRA. Why is it a selling point that you doubled the size of the IRS? Just no, no. On the second point, it sounds good but also maybe we wouldnt need so much insulin if GA focused on reducing obesity.

Neither candidate is really great. If the GOP had chosen to run someone normal, like ANYONE NORMAL, it would have been a lock.

Oh my God this is the most ignorant statement I've read in a while. You do know that the VAST MAJORITY of people that need insulin are Type 1, which has no correlation to obesity, right? Yes, let's punish those people because we want to fat-shame. JFC Republicans do not need to be involved in making medical decisions. Fking infuriating.

NP. If you’re going to call out someone else’s ignorance, make sure you’re not an idiot yourself.

You confused yourself with the statistics.

You see, although Type 2 diabetics are less likely to be insulin dependent than Type 1 diabetics, Type 2 nonetheless make up the vast, vast, vast majority of diabetics. As a result, Type 2 diabetics make up the majority of those who use insulin.

To give you an example with numbers. If 20% of people in Town A use insulin and only 5% of people in Town B use insulin, then the residents of Town A are more likely to be on insulin. If at the same time, however, they are only 100 people in Town A, but there are 1000 people in Town B, then 20 people in Town A are on insulin while 50 people in Town B are on insulin. Therefore, the people of Town B make up the majority of those who use insulin even though they are less likely to need insulin.

Confusing, right?

That’s why you should be careful before trotting out statistics when you don’t have a good command of the subject.

NP. The main difference, statistics aside, is that Type 1 diabetics will NEVER BE ABLE TO CHANGE THEIR DEPENDENCE ON INSULIN. No amount of lifestyle, diet, exercise, etc. will change the fact that without insulin, they will die. It’s why those comments are offensive regardless of whatever stat game you want to play. The cap is for those who need insulin TO LIVE. Not live better, but LIVE.

+1 and adding that that’s 1.3 million people, and none of them can change their diet or lifestyle to be less likely to need it, not that Herschel Walker actually has any proposals that would help them with that.

Well, it's kind of a stretch to call Herschel Walker a politician, but that's not even close to the goofiest thing that he's said.

So over thanksgiving was in Savannah area. The commercial for HW do not have him talking. It is really noticeable in the commercials.

Two were in heavy rotation. The first one talked about Warnock and an apartment building. It was really hard to follow. I guess the commercial is saying Warnock is slumlord but it’s not clear. Nothing is clear in the commercial.

The other has a white blonde ex college swimmer saying she lost her spot to a trans person. It is short on actually facts- like what college, was she cut for the trans person, etc. Usually in college, x number of seniors(and people quitting, etc) leave and the coach brings in x number of freshman/transfers.

Dave Chappelle described Walker best:
“Observably stupid”

One of the best lines from that monologue.

New Warnock ad is all reactions of voters to watching clips of Walker's speeches. Hilarious (and effective).

Starts at 00:48.
