Ok. By the way, she looked great today. Said almost everyone. |
So you want Everyone, and in particular, posters here, to stop complimenting Kate's body when she is obviously thin. Because it's bad for Kate? Because it's bad for society? What is the goal of countering the complimentery posts in this thread? |
It’s the whole mentality of extreme skinniness being so desirable and princess-like. It permeates society. I don’t want my daughter growing up with that mentality. (Before someone calls me fatso again, both of us are slim.) |
The thing is no one is even really doing that except one or two trolls. If people were saying "she looks so wonderfully slim and trim" I would definitely find that bizarre because of the cancer and because she's unnaturally and unattainably thin for her age. But people aren't saying that. They are just saying she looks wonderful. In general. Which she does! The ED concern trolls can't stand this so come out with this bizarre argument that if you don't specifically say "looks good except for her body" you are supporting an ED. But of course, if people did that, they'd just harp on something else, like plastic surgery. |
You don't need to worry so much. People do not like Kate because she's skinny. We/they like her because she's a princess and pretty and unobjectionable. Your daughters are fine. |
I actually have never had any opinion on her until I read the lunacy in these threads! It makes me root for her. I'm fat and that's why I try not to comment on people's bodies at all. To me, she does seem too thin, but don't know if that's due to genetics or a chronic health condition or stress or an eating disorder. If it is an ED, then I have sympathy for her because that's also an illness, a serious one, and I don't judge her for that as I hope people don't judge me. |
You do realize there are multiple people posting here, right? I never made that claim. I think she looked great prior to chemo and I think she looks great now. |
+100 There are some seriously odd posters here, who can't stand anyone saying anything complementary of KM. She's always been beautiful and still is, very much so. She also seems like a caring mother and wife. There, that'll really trigger the anti-KM trolls! |
I thought cancer patients weren't "out of the woods" until a clear 5 year check up. |
There are so many wonderful women role models from all walks of life. Expose your daughter to more of the women who you're more comfortable with. |
Today I learned you can get Botox in your brow area whilr undergoing chemo. |
Are you a tween girl? It sure sounds like you wouldn’t like her if she were 50 lbs heavier. I’m starting to wonder if a lot of the reaction here is really a reaction to her childish fan club on DCUM and a deep suspicion of your motives and immaturity. In fact I haven’t seen any of this so-called hatred for Kate herself, just for you. |
In general, yes - 5 years of showing “no evidence of disease” indicates that a person is “cancer-free.” But it depends on the cancer and the stage. The language and milestones are shifting as we make significant developments in oncology. I personally think she was referring to not being done with active treatment (chemo). |
She's so thin ![]() |
Maybe! See the NIH article below for more information on the potential use and benefits of Botox and fillers on cancer patients. But it hasn’t really been studied, so let’s not put irresponsible things on the Internet. For example, women receiving monoclonal antibodies as part of their chemo treatment should NOT get Botox. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8654687/ |
