So they probably won’t get it. Maybe for 25-26. |
If the GA accepts Revolution, it’s 100% a “back room deal” between CC and GA administration predicated on them being able to convince a large percentage of the existing FCV GA players to come over to Revolution. We know this because the GA application process for 2024/25 been closed for a while now. FCV coaches are working “behind the scenes” to try and convince FCV GA families to move to Revolution even going so far as to say that yes, you’ll still have to pay TSJ for the spring in order to get your card released but we won’t charge you for the spring if you come over to Revolution. To bolster that argument, they’re telling families that TSJ will lie to them about having field space for the future, etc. and generally painting a doom and gloom picture for TSJ FCV. We’ll have to see what percentage of FCV GA families decide to believe that. But unless it works out such that they can convince enough players to follow them, GA accepting Revolution on the basis of the current state of their program and teams completely flys in the face of the standard the GA claims to maintain: “…an unrivaled standard of excellence in coaching, competition, and regional and national showcase events”. |
| Would GA add a new club knowing it would more than likely mean the end for one of their existing clubs? Not just another one of their GA clubs, but one of their best known and champions league clubs. The other few top clubs GA needs to hold onto, like Top Hat and Nationals, would see this and move to ECNL |
Wow di dyou ever miss the point. No one said anything about donations. You are off your rocker completely. Why so angry? It's true Union has the best commits for soccer in the area. I dont understand all the >>>> ? Are you having trouble communicating? |
| Slippery slope for sure. |
They will go to Union, VDA, NVA in that order. |
| I would think the member clubs who look at it will want VRSC blacklisted. The message that you are sending is that poaching coaches and TDs leads to membership. Any underpaid staff suddenly gets a ton of leverage with their club. . |
How do you keep teams? No one is leaving FCV to play in NCSL or EDP with VRSC. The league memberships draw kids to clubs more than coaching staff and kids are not leaving a GA club unless it is to go to another GA team or to an ECNL team |
Maybe they will join an alliance? |
No club in their right mind invites revolution into an alliance. |
Just because FCV/TSJ couldn't figure out how to run a business and keep their experienced coaching staff has nothing to do with VR "poaching coaches, etc". This is a FCV screw up at the highest levels and local clubs probably got calls and acted off the info they received. The biggest TSJFCV fail was not getting in front of their sinking ship and reassuring (Loudoun Co) families that there will indeed be a club to return to in the 24/25 season. Nobody in their right mind will take a chance on TSJ and make that drive to Springfield on the off chance there will be a GA program next year. Players are definitely going to explore ECNL after this mess.
|
They may explore ECNL, it is doubtful that they explore VRSC. GA can drop FCV and still not reward VRSC |
Agree VR won't be at the top of any GA players list since the records just aren't there. |
I don’t know why people think there is field space in Springfield. LAX owns the indoor fieldhouse and the TSJ teams at least the boys practice at George Mason in Fairfax. They can’t get local fields in Fairfax county either probably because they are a corporation and not a non-profit. |
I agree but think it's a little of both the business and the coaching. |
