What happens this weekend?

Spooky Nook National Indoor. Someone will have to stand in for Visi. Hope this resolves itself so that the girls can play without distraction.

They will be in good hands with the Dad coaches.

Seems like it's leading towards the dad that played at ND may end up coaching this year.

Well you know who is getting the ball now

This has to be the least insightful post on this thread, and that is saying a lot.

Really? You took their mildly funny shade and made a comment that is no where near true. I could find at least 20 less insightful comments in just this thread - we’re talking about DC Urban Mom’s!

Plus, she’s the best player on the Eastern Seaboard so I’d make sure the back was in her hands too!

Sorry ball was in her hands.

Are the dad coaches committed to a long term approach or just short term because no one else will do it

Younger daughter is a 2026 so I doubt any longer than that. He did play at a very high level, so they could do much worse than him if no one else steps up/wants the job.

The frustrating thing is that Visi has lost the entire class of 2028 talent because of this.

They lose an entire class of talent because the presumptive coach for at least the next couple of years was a three time NCAA All-American and US National Team player?

I'd think the smart girls who played their cards right and submitted their applications are feeling pretty good about this.

The soccer coach has girls in the school but she has been coaching there long before her daughters attended the school. Not sure if anyone else is a parent coach.

Doesn't he have a full-time job? I can understand stepping in for one year, but if you have a FT job (not self-employed) it's going to be stressful to dip everyday at 3pm to be at practice. I wouldn't expect this person to be committed for more than a year.

Playing at a high level doesn't mean you will necessarily be a good coach. Plenty of coaches out there that are great and never even played in college and vice versa. Just saying...

Expect more than 1 Dad coach, and they will do a good job.

I would suggest it probably impacted a few applicants, but wasn't a determining factor for most families.

My daughter plays for a TOP Maryland club team and would not lower her status by playing for a dad-coached high school team.

This has to be a joke - many of the TOP Md teams are coached by dads (and moms).

Agreed. Coppermine, Eagle Stix, M&D, and Crush (4 of the top 6 2028 teams) all have parent coaches...

I am not aware of anyone from any of those 4 teams that would have considered Visi in any case.
