Congratulations! The first acceptance is awesome and is so stress-relieving.

Everyone I know who has visited or attended IU has loved it! Congrats!

I am a previous poster whose son heard last night. We are thrilled about it!

Yes, DC's first acceptance was from a school he saw as a total safety (hoped was!). I assumed he would be blasé but he clearly was thrilled, especially when they offered him a large merit package. He doesn't need it, but he clearly appreciated the affirmation.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear, especially from EDs!

That is pretty high. The kid really prefers WM over UVA?

Never thought twice about UVA. W&M is a better size for her and less of an Old South / Greek feel.

(It think the W&M middle 50 SAT last year was around 1440.)

Not the PP, but my DD liked both schools a lot, but ultimately preferred W&M and it was a little more in range for her stats.

Yeah, my kid preferred W&M and refused to apply to UVA last year. 4.35 W, 1490 SAT

+1

My kid did ED for W&M--all other top choices were private SLACs. Would have applied to UVA RD as a back-up financial option if W&M didn't work out. Competitive for both:4.4 W, 1440 SAT, National awards in interest area. Fortunately W&M worked out as the SLACs would have cost a lot more!

My daughter and a friend heard from University of Massachusetts at Amherst (Early Action) yesterday. First acceptance, so it’s a relief to know she’s in somewhere.
