Yeah, what 23:56 said. It's not a physical age. A friend of mine is 51 and in great shape, while another friend is 47 and looks well over 50 because she drinks, smokes, and doesn't take care of herself.
The younger one looks much older than the older one. |

I agree with the PP who said it is all relative.
Since none of us on here know each other personally, we do not have any mutual friends or acquaintances to use as examples so I will use celebrities. Look at Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Lopez. Both are 46 years of age, yet Cate has a very mature, older look while Jennifer looks like she is still in her prime. Her body is in great shape, she barely has a wrinkle plus she still has that youthful "glow." Look at Angelina Jolie and Alyssa Milano. Angelina just turned 4-0 and Alyssa Milano is a few years older than that. Alyssa hasn't changed very much since her "Who's the Boss?" days. She could easily pass for ten yrs. younger while Angelina looks more or less her age. |

The mommy-bob is often a reaction to the 50 pounds. Doesn't like herself because of the weight. Weight loss is slow and hard. Cut hair. Tada! Change! (Followed by "oh, god, what have I done" regret and a lot of female acquaintances telling her how cute it looks.) |

| Yikes! What is a mommy bob? I am about to get a hair cut and it has to be shorter as I have very fine hair and it looks scrappy long. Any haircut suggestions or pictures for fine hair that aren't the bob? |

I think the short layered cut is more about aiming for a facelift- detracting from chin waddle, etc. Older generations think long hair and bikinis beyond 50 look terrible/desparate.
I also think women who insist on being called Mimi instead of grandma appear older and more desparate than those who are proud to Grandma, Nana, etc. |

| I don't think women are old until they actually are, like above 75. I think Care Blanchete is elegant and gorgeous. Jlo looks ridiculous but she is a star donuts okay but if I saw a regular woman in her forties dressed like that I would laugh and it would seem like a pathetic attempt to hang on to her youth. You can be gorgeous and in fabulous shape but dress appropriately. |
