As said by a man to perpetuate this shit.....

I think most women are comfortable with themselves - take it or leave it.

Are there some insecure women chasing what's 'attractive' or possibly finding a way to accept themselves? Sure.

That said, there will always be rude women out there looking to put others down based on vanity, and that's their own issues, not ours collectively as a gender.

When she feels old, same for men.

There it is, right there. 100% agree with this.
And the corollary is equally true:
If you are NOT fit you do NOT look good at any age

I think I'm going to compromise on some sort of long-layered "lob."

Man again. Short hair can look great. The problem is that it requires work to look great. So DW has a mommy bob and when she gets it cut it actually looks pretty good. But within a day or so it looks frumpy again because she doesn't really do with it what she's supposed to.

Also, too many times when women move from long hair to short hair they don't dive in and do it all at once with an actual short hairstyle. No, they timidly take a little off, then some more, then a little shorter, until what they have is not an actual hairstyle, but simply a long hairstyle cut short. It's that strait one length hair that stops above the shoulder. It's awful, ladies.

Oh Jesus stfu. My hair does not exist to make you, anonymously dude, happy. I am not sure what your theory of hair here is, but if you think we should all have long, wavy starlet locks you should know that that takes a lot of time and money and just does not work for some hair types. At the end of the day, a shorter cut looks neat and manageable on many women - and when you are a working mom, neat and manageable are paramount to looking professional with your limited time and money.

Let me guess, next you are going to start complaining about how all the "ladies" in your office have RBF. If only they smiled more ...

PP here. Read the bolded part. I never said that short hair CAN'T look great, I said that in practice women don't seem to MAKE it look great. It usually looks frumpy because they don't seem to try.

You don't need to please me with your looks. Nor do the women in my office. I was just commenting on the women in my sphere and how they look.

Oh those silly women, not trying to please you with their hair!

The problem is, many men will go to the barber and get it freshly cut, get that bald spot combed over and everything arranged.

And then they come home, and they get distracted, and they dont spend the proper amount of time grooming their hair back to how it's supposed to look.

It's awful, boys.

A woman is old once she can no longer reproduce.

True. But they still want younger women.

As for the bald men, crop the hair close.

DH here and will try to give an honest reply to a troll-bait question.

There is no age that is old. It's relative to some degree. When I was 18, 28 was old. At 25, 40 was old. I am 40 now, nothing seems old.

If women take care of themselves and have good energy, they will not seem old. Men view women as old when they stop trying. Short hair has taken a beating on this thread, and the truth is longer hair attracts men and looks better than short hair almost every time. But a woman can look great with short hair if there is effort put into it. Also, an energetic, confident and fun woman rocking her age will always be timeless. By that I mean it looks bad when older women are stuffing themselves into Forever 21 dresses that are meant for fresh faced teenagers.

If you think I am being sexist, I feel the same about men. Just as men look old when they are out of shape and snoring on the couch. Or wearing embroidered jeans with tight Affliction or Ed Hardy t-shirts. Classy, charming, in reasonably good shape with good energy will always stave off being "old"

I am most definitely not a man. The "shit" is what women are constantly throwing at each other to feel better at themselves.
