I have a love/hate relationship with caffeine. A little feels good, a lot results in heart palpitations and sleepless nights. But a lot for me is considered a little for others-- and I haven't really figured out the right amount for me (I think it varies depending on various factors--trust me I don't wish to be this complicated).
So just out of pure curiosity--how much do you usually consume? |
| 2-3 cups per day, depending on how tired I am |
| 7 or 8 cups of coffee plus tea and sometimes green tea. I drink 2 or 3 cups of coffee before I leave for work and have another 4 before lunch. In the afternoon I drink tea and green tea. I often have a cup of coffee again after dinner. It doesn't keep me up. I love caffeine! |
| 2-3 diet cokes a day |
| A cup of afternoon tea |
This is me except the tea part. My husband can drink a lot, but has to stop by noon to sleep that night - it might be your timing. |
|
| Is the taste. It doesn't make me feel like anything. By coffee I mean am espresso with a dash of milk not a giant American size cup. I'm European and this is sort of normal where I'm from |
| I can only have one glass in the morning before noon or I have trouble falling asleep. It sucks because I really like coffee, but everything I have more than one glass or have it too late in the day I can't sleep. |
| 1-2 cups a day |
| 3-4 cups. better than depression meds! |
Op here--I know that timing can be an issue with me for sure. But yesterday I had a half cup around 10a, then at 4-5pm I was dragging. Decided to risk it and ordered Iced tea with dinner and felt so much better. But didn't affect my sleep at all! I mean it when I say it's inconsistent. |
| 4-5 diet Cokes per day. |
| 2 cups black coffee at home. A grande black coffee and a venti Americano at work. Occasionally, I will drink diet coke in the afternoon. |
| I have the same issues as you, OP. I can have one mug in the morning. Very rarely I have a very small amount late in the day. I think the inconsistent effects for me are related to hormones. |
