What I live about Arlington is that is not composed entire of the Yorktown District, but also has cool, urban, and diverse areas (not all are all three though)

What I like about McLean is that it is far enough of from me I can ignore it most of the time.

Different kind of vibe, IMO. McLean is more suburban or even rural feeling. Arlington is more dense, but not quite the same as living in DC.

It's a scale.

For people who work in DC or in that general close-in area, it's great to live in Arlington.

I work in Tysons, so McLean is awesome. I figure for people who work near Dulles, Ashburn is pretty darned nice too.
