Recommend a good Gastroenterologist

Can anyone recommend a good GI in Bethesda or dc line (SIbley hospital)? I am willing to travel to NoVa if you have a good rec. Having issues that may require colonoscopy so a office that does this well. Thanks!

http://www.novagi.com/ has locations in Fair Oaks, Fairfax, Herndon, and Chantilly. I've seen Dr. Mirkin and Dr. Khapra and they are excellent.

At GW, Dr Bashir ........ the absolute best!

Several docs at GW use him when it comes to their own needs or that of close relatives.

She did my colonoscopy about 5 years ago, no complaints. I liked her.

Another thumbs down. Bad experience.

Colonoscopies are fairly routine. You'll be fine wherever you end up.

My DH used the group at Georgetown after two docs in MoCo couldn't figure out what was wrong. The docs at Gtown were excellent and finally helped him. This was nearly ten years ago, so I don't remember the primary doctors name. He was Indian.

Has anyone been to Dr. Hally at Diegestive Disease Physicans -http://www.digestivediseasephysicians.com/meet-our-providers/

Someone on this forum had recommended Dr. Hurley from this practice but I couldn't get a appt with him.

I think Dr. Kirk has perhaps gotten too busy.

When I first saw her she was very good. Down to earth, practical and efficient. Last year she referred me to a sub-specialist who was a complete bust--only wanted to refer me on to another specialist several hundred miles away. Called up Kirk's office weekly for a month to get another referral and crickets. Lucked into a specialist at JHU on my own.

Love love love Dr. Kirk. I agree the office is bad but find her extremely knowledgeable and quick to follow up. I have a genetic condition which requires lots of monitoring. She is great and the Endoscopy center is great, really love the nurses there. The actual medical office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I wish she would go out on her own.

23:08 again. Dr. Kirk gave me a misdiagnosis so wildly off base that even non-medical me knew it was wrong. Second doc I saw knew within minutes what the real problem was. She came highly recommended so she must have something going for her. But in my case she just wasn't competent.

Just scheduled an appt with Dr. Zeddun at GW. Any feedback on him?

Like the PP Dr Kirk also gave me a misdiagnosis off base. I did not return to waste my time and money.
