BBQ burgers

Anonymous
I am having a BBQ. I will have burgers, cheese, buns.
As far as condiments, I will have ketchup, mustard, relish.

Do you usually provide lettuce, tomato, pickles? It will be outside in the yard.

Yes, you need to have lettuce, tomato and onion. Also jalapeños, mayonnaise, and pickle slices (preferably Claussen) not relish. Guacamole and bacon are also nice if you want to impress.

Ok, i thought I was going overboard.

Lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles at a minimum. Make sure it's not sweet pickles. The tartness of the pickle complements the meat well.

Also, use ground sirloin for your beef, and salt it well but only just before you put it on the grill (the salt causes the meat fibers to break down, so don't do it in advance).

Use a meat thermometer so you don't overcook the patties and turn them into hockey pucks. Pull at 130-140F.

I have been to many events without pickles, tomatoes, lettuce or onions.

Lettuce tomato pickles and onions are requirements, not going overboard. Just like buns are requirements.

Aw, this must be a guy. Kinda cute, really. Please provide refreshments that don't just include beer.

I made a salsa like sauce with tomatoes, basils, mango and onions and used it as a sauce. Put that in the hot dog or hamburger bun and it was a hit.
