| Does anyone out there have suggestions for good family TV shows? It seems that every show we watch is inappropriate in some way and yes, I am somewhat conservative. Kids are rising 6th and 8th grade and obviously not interested in the silly kids shows, but shows such as, "The Office" and "Last Man Standing" have too many adult themes. "American Ninja Warrior" has been a good one. We are just looking to laugh and also have more appropriate themes in the shows we occasionally watch. TIA |

I'm hoping the muppets is good in the fall. We also watch Ninja Warrior. My kids like the cooking showdowns. I want to say I saw a preview for another kid friendly 8 pm sitcom.

American Ninja Warrior is a HUGE hit in our house. I agree with you that there isn't much out there that is family friendly (and I'm not even all that conservative).
Just that some of the shows and commercials just end up being nasty. Agree about the cooking shows also. Otherwise we stick with movies. |

Another household here that does Ninja Warrior and cooking competition shows.
They sometimes swear on the latter, but they bleep it out. ? |
| *? = smiley face that didn't show up |
| also amazing race, wipeout, survivor |
| My just-turned-11-year-old enjoys Full House reruns. |
| The middle |
| Master Chef Junior and Amazing Race are fun and enjoyable for all ages |
| Once Upon a Time is pretty safe, and the earlier seasons are on Netflix. |
| We go old school. Fame is great - they deal with a lot of issues we can talk about. Same for Punky Brewster, Different Strokes, Silver Spoon, Blossom, etc. |

The Middle
Blackish Fresh Off the Boat - not sure it made it back for a second season |
| I don't think there's anything objectionable on Modern Family, but your mileage may vary. |
| We love family ties. |

Our kids are a couple of years younger, but we're enjoying Merlin (streaming on Netflix). Heard good things about Once Upon a Time but then read some reviews with parents complaining about adult themes, so we haven't tried it.
We end up watching lots of old movies--from slapstick on. |
