Don't you miss Sarah Palin?

The poster sounds like a jerk. Obviously doesn't know what a prayer partner is-has nothing to do with not being able to pray on your own and has everything to do with comfort in sharing a prayer with someone--it's a beautiful thing and I am sick of the attacks on christianity.

Yeah, I'm not a Christian (anymore) (and never was a Palin fan) but this sounds like a cultural difference to me and should be respected as such.

I will never miss Sarah Palin.

Agree that the moderator sounds ignorant and obnoxious, but NO, I don't miss Sarah Palin!

Christian bashing is a parlor sport in Democrat circles - they cannot help themselves. But those evangelicals are oh so intolerant blah blah blah

I don't think so. It's not that peope don't know what a "prayer partner" is. It's that Palin sneered at the thought of having to hold hands with people in the McCain campaign, and pray with them.

See the video:

Only some Democrats. And it's not fair to say Christianity itself gets bashed. It is mostly the evangelicals, who would like to think they represent all of Christianity, but who do not.

Unfortunately, Republicans keep on claiming Christianity for their own. They cannot help themselves, either. But the election tells a different story:

Obama got 53% of the religious vote in 2008
--45% of the protestant vote
--but only 34% of the white protestants
--and only 26% of evangelicals
--54% of the Catholic vote
--78% of the Jewish vote
--73% of Other
--75% of unaffiliated religious

The Republicans have taken Christians for granted, using abortion and other sexual morality issues to sway them. But Christians care about other things too, like social justice, poverty, and the environment. These three areas are causing them to lose the Catholic vote and to some extent the youth evangelical vote. Certainly they never had and probably never will have the black Christian vote, the Jewish vote, or the Muslim vote.

Seems to me there's been a fair number of liberals on this thread defend Sarah Palin's religious practices. I've also condemned liberal snobbery about her family even though I detest her policies. If you don't like stereotyping, please don't engage in stereotyping yourself. Not every Democrat acts the way you describe.

You are not a true christian if you support abortion-you just aren't because it completely goes against everything in christianity and I suspect other religions as well but since I am not anything but a Christian I can't comment on other religions. I used to pretend that it was the whole "choice" thing ..and then I had kids and I can't pretend what I saw on a sonogram isn't life. It is and the idea that we can just kill a little person right up almost until the end. This is supported by Obama by the way and it is horrifying--could be the worst thing about him.

PP, I think you're confusing this thread with something else. Please take your venom elsewhere.
Anonymous
Hmm venom? I don't think so just making a point that Sarah Palin is not a hypocrite and commenting on Christianity. Maybe you should read all the posts before commenting.

I did read the posts and your screed about abortion and condemning Obama as "horrifying" came out of nowhere.

And as for whether SP is a hypocrite . . . we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

OK, we get it. Once you saw the sonogram, you embraced the "TRUE" meaning of Christianity.

great

But what does this have to do with finding some prayer partner?

I totally agree, I have a hard time sitting next to people in my Catholic church that support a womens right to "choose" --
