Costco furniture quality

How does it compare to a regular furniture store? What brick and mortar store does it compare to? Is it close to Ethan Allen or Crate&Barrel?

I hear they have good chandaliers....

I have a bedroom set from them that I'd liken to crate and barrel quality-wise. Read the reviews beforehand and know that they will come pick it up if you decide to return it, no questions asked

My best friend has a bedroom set from costco. She loves it. Has had it for over a year. Quality is good.

It just depends on the manufacturer. It can take some sleuthing to figure it out on some items like bedroom sets.

We have a bedroom set that we like. It's not Ethan Allen quality, I don't think that the drawer runners are as sturdy, but it's dovetail construction and still looks brand new 3 years later. I think it's better quality that our Pottery Barn bedroom set, but not as sturdy as the set from the 1970s that I grew up with (honestly, that quality is hard to find nowadays!).

We have a Costco leather couch that we love, too. It has an electronic recline and that has held up nicely for a few years.

No problems, good quality, great prices. I view it as nice, but probably not "forever" furniture.

Are you all implying that crate and barrel is in any way quality furniture?

Disagree.
We ordered a bedroom set for the kids' room. The delivery guys dropped the boxes on the driveway. Then when they went to assemble the bed frames there were a ton of noticeable scratches. So we rejected delivery, called, re-ordered, re- scheduled, etc Such a pain.
the 2nd time around the furniture still arrived banged up. It included this useless "paint marker" to cover up chips and scratches. The paint marker was the wrong shade of white though. By this time, we had waited nearly 2 mo so we just accepted it move on.

We also had a dining room table ordered/delivered (before we knew how much of a hassle the bedroom set would be) and that was messed up too. Only 7 of 8 chairs were shipped despite the invoice clearly stating 8 chairs. Then 1 of the chairs had a cushion that was misaligned with the seat frame. Again, we had to deal with the hassles of calling, rescheduling, etc.

For what we paid and all the time it took it just was not worth it.

FWIW I was the PP and my friend and her husband rented a truck and picked it up from their local costco therefore they didn't have to worry about delivery.

Seriously! I've had my C&B bed for 3 years and it is falling apart.

We're happy with our furniture from Costco. We have an entertainment center, dining room set, end tables, office desks and beds. Some we've picked up at Costco, some was delivered. It depends who delivers I guess, but ours was handled carefully.

Costco furniture quality is hit or miss. A lot of their stuff is half decent, but not usually top quality by any stretch. As other said, it's probably comparable to the "looks good on the outside" brands like C&B, pottery barn, etc.
