Infertility Support and Discussion
| I would appreciate any feedback on both Dr. Jones or the practice. I haven't found any info on him by searching the forum and little on GIVF in general. I"m scheduled to see Sacks at Columbia for a 1st visit, but Jones was recently referred to me and I am trying to determine if it is worthwhile to switch over. Thanks! |
| H emust be relatively new- GIVF is horrible based on my experience- would not recommend. nice offices though. |
| OP here - Can you explain why you had a bad experience at GIVF? If it was doctor specific and he is new I may at least go for a first appt. But if it was something that probably is ongoing, it would be nice to understand. Thanks. |
| We saw Dr. Udoff at GIVF and were thrilled (and I am 19 wks preg). We initially saw a Dr. there that we were not pleased with, who has since left the practice. The staff, the facility, and Dr. Udoff were fantastic. I am not sure why people hate them so much, unless they were seeing the aforementioned doc w/ less than great bedside manner. |

Hi - I'm a little late, but maybe you are still checking this. I've been seeing Dr. Jones at GIVF since December. So far, I like what I've seen. I am going to be moving onto IVF next cycle, so I haven't had success yet, but I haven't seen anything about the practice that has worried me. I've met with Dr. Jones in person and on the phone multiple times, the nurses are helpful and quick to respond, and I've been impressed by all the staff there.
I have a friend who has had 2 children from GIVF (Dr. Lincoln) so I went there as a recommendation from her. So far, I am hopefully they will help get me a baby as well! |
|
I like Dr. Jones; he has a pretty impressive background. I like Dr. Lincoln a lot better, though. Much better bedside manner. I have also gone to Dr. Sacks in the past and loved him too.
I have had a great overall experience at GIVF. |
Sorry- don't check here that often anymore since we're done with TTC- basically- there were a group of re's that were pretty good but they lost them all- I don't know Dr Jones.. but I had several IUIs that they messed up- severely. I went to SG and was MUCH happier there (and they were in control of my IF treatment). in general if you do a search on this board- there are some + stories of GIVF but more negative. |
| I agree GIVF is horrible, please don't waste your time and money going there.I was 33 years old with unexplained infertility , I saw Dr K, she told my husband he had low morphology. After one failed clomid iui, she rushed us to do ivf, worst experience ever, she put me straight on an antagon protocol, I complaint of the high dosage, the nurse make me feel like an idiot, very rude staff overall . Low and behold I produce lots of eggs but ivf failed . I took me embryos to Shady Grove, the doctor there couldn't believe that she put me on that protocol, and told me that the stimulation protocol was very deficient and probably the embryos created were of bad quality because of the poor stimulation. Please don't waste your time And money on Givf, they are big money suckers, they take your payment on every appt even before services are rendered. |
| PP I agree, GIVF used to be good, but they lost all the reputable re's and they are more expensive. |
| My experiance at SG was much better than that at GIVF. GIVF is also more expensive, and have a rude staff over all. I think SG is the best clinic in the region for TTC |
| Wish i had gone to SG before.GIVF charge us 1200 $ to froze our embryos, when even the most expensive fertility clinics in the country charge 600 the most. Also I forgot to say that they told is my husband had low morphology and made us pay 2000 for ICSI, we did semen analisis twice after that in GW and SG and his morphology is fine. I truly believe they are robbing peoples money in GIVF beware.I am currently working with SG and the experience has been way better, I like my doc and when my nurse got sick two other nurses took over and they were great. Wish I never went to GIVF they suck bit time! |
| I think that some of the doctors at Givf don't have enough experience . They have two good doctors, but the problem is that if you are cycling with them u can end up having to deal with the others. |
| GIVF is overpriced, ruse staff, poor doctors in my opinion. |
|
I believe most of the GIVF negativity comes from about ten years back. Most of the recent comments are positive. It is important to visit local clinics and make an informed decision.
Personally, I am going to give GIVF a try. They have an unbelievably excellent single cycle guarantee going on right now. Success or your money back. I don't think anybody offers that on a single cycle package?! |
| I did not have a good experience with GIVF (over a year ago) and have moved on to another practice that recommended a much lower dose protocol and we got pregnant the first try with them. Keep your options open and consult with at least one other RE before shelling out the big bucks! |
