RE - Dr. Jones at GIVF?

Anonymous
I have never had a consult with GIVF but the fact that they advertise sex selection technologies on their website would make me avoid them. Se much of IVF has to do with making decisions that you are ethically comfortable with and so I wouldn't want to go to a clinic where I felt we really were not on the same page in terms of ethics. But that is just me. If I was OK with sex selection then I would consider giving them a try.

PP, I agree there is something sleazy about them.

yes I agree GIVF was an awful place to go for us. I hated Dr K , she gave mevway too high dosage of stimulating hormones, I think she has more experience working with egg donors than with actual people trying to conceive. The on call staff was rude and they are overpriced, is only been six months since this happened to me so I don't think they have gotten better over the years like someone posted. I wouldn't recommend them .

Mybad experience with GIVF was more recent and I had a horrible experience- stupidly 3 cycles- DR K and the rest (Lincoln seemed nice but he just followed protocal) were horrible.. waste of money- tears and of course time..

We had a very good experience w/ Dr. Udoff at GIVF last year and the nurses there are great. I don't know about Jones or the other docs at GIVF.

Bad experience there last year - the nurses were flat out mean/cranky, my RE was inaccessible & didn't seem to closely monitor the cycle, and it was so overpriced. I switched to another clinic after just one cycle.

I went to Dr. Jones nice guy but waste of time....after 6 months with him we left. We never went thru a cycle...I had to have all sorts of tests...hystopingogram etc...The women doing the hysto at a different location didn't seem to think I needed this b/c I had natural conception and birth 2 years earlier. I also kept asking about an accupuncturist in the area that he or they would recommend...he never could tell me of any....Strange b/c Dr. Udoff in the same practice has written papers and done research on the topic and TTC....They have found that accupuncture helps in the implantation of the fertilized egg to the wall and MAYBE egg quality....

Every day counts when you are older and TTC....don't waste your time.....

I will say this though, I had another friend go to Dr. Udoff and they conceived 1st cycle with twins....

We headed to Dr. Abassi at Columbia Fertility. She has great stats for success with older women and your own eggs.

You can go to the NIH website and check stats on fertility clinics anywhere in the U.S. It's interesting.....

I ultimately cycled at a top clinic up in NYC and their charges for bloodwork/ultrasounds were HALF of what GIVF charged me. And GIVF charged three times more than my other local RE charged. So none of it's cheap, but GIVF overpriced - especially for what you get.
