Too many vitamins?

Anonymous
Is it possible to take too many vitamins? I asked my nurse and she said sure it's fine but I don't think she's taking me seriously. Right now I take:

AM:
Vitamin B complex
Vitamin E
Vitamin D (about 2-3 times a week)

PM:
Pre natal

I am trying to thicken my lining so that's why I loaded up on B and E. I am taking D occasionally because I feel tired all the time and last blood work in the winter said D was low. I know it's summer now and I'm getting it from the sun but I still feel tired.

I plan to stop all vitamins (except prenatal) after the transfer.

Thanks!

Did your MD advise you to take these vitamins?

No, but I asked before I started them and they said it was fine.

That's nothing. You should see what I take morning, afternoon and night. My RE made fun of me but didn't think there was any harm.

What are you taking? I feel I am loading up, but haven't talked to the RE about it, taking a break after last BFN cycle.

Oops my comment got deleted. I said glad I'm not alone! My husband thinks I am nuts. Does your RE want you to stop taking everything after transfer? My RE hasn't said anything about it but I'm worried it's too much.

Let's see if I can even remember...

- Prenatal
- DHEA
- Ubiquinol
- R-Alpha Lipoic Acid
- N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
- PQQ
- L'Arginine
- Royal Jelly/Bee Pollen/Propolis blend
- Myo-Inositol powder
- Spirulina
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B12
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin E
- Fish oil
- Antioxidant supplement
- 5-MTHF because I am terrified of birth defects
- Was recently taking Maca but ran out and didn't get more... I will probably follow suit a couple others once I run out

I know,

Sorry, just saw this. My last retrieval was a disaster with nothing making it to blast, so I haven't had the convo with my RE yet. I think it's safe to take through maybe a couple days before transfer, maybe with the exception of DHEA and anything that has a strong warning on the bottle about not taking when pregnant. I think REs are very dismissive of the whole supplement conversation. I don't care that much if it's not going to hurt my chances, but if there is anything that is questionable, I really want to know, given all the effort I am putting into this. I might bring it up again, on that note.

I took most listed above plus tumerice. I did not take R Alpha Lipoic Acid, NAC, L Arginine, 5 MTHF and antioxidant supplement. I ate tons of fruits and veggies, spirulina, wheat grass and successfully conceived after being given the DE talk by 2 REs.

PP with the ridiculous list here. This is comforting -- congrats to you.

Thanks to both pp's, this is very helpful! I wonder if I should add more vitamins -OP

Have you experienced any side effects? I had one episode of dizzyness and blurred vision after starting Q10 and DHEA.

You would think I would, but other than feeling slightly queasy one morning, I can't say I've felt anything different one way or another. I think Q10 can give you the jitters so I would guess that's what did it for you. Maybe lower your dosage if you want to take it again? I think it's one of the more important supplements that I take, FWIW.

What is Q10 used for? I just did a quick google search and it says egg quality?
