DH and are debating a paint color for our bedroom. The room has a big window on two of the walls. The window trim and the closet door frames will be white. DH wants to pick a paint color that is dark. I don't want to go too dark.
What color is your bedroom? |
We just bought a new house and I am planning to paint the master bedroom in Benjamin Moore La Paloma Gray. It's a nice mid-gray.

Gray. So hot right now. |
Grey with a touch of blue for me. |
We did a very white greige- agreeable gray. It's not as gray as the name sounds. |
We just painted ours a Sherwin Wiiliams mid-gray. We have thick white molding and added white plantation shutters as well |
What color is the carpet/hardwood floors? What color is your furniture? What is your style like? If you are starting fresh, i vote for a beige/grey color. Im not a fan of dark colored paint. I like a fresh/airy room |
I like my bedroom cozy. Grey makes it cold and stark. |
Benjamin Moore Jute. It's a greige with a faint green undertone. |
What is your favorite season?
Mine is autumn, and all my colors in my house tend to fall into an autumn spectrum: natural greens, oranges, rust, burgundy, pale golds, etc. My walls are light tones of warm taupes with green or gold undertones instead of grays. It makes me happy to be im my house because the colors make me feel like I do during my favorite seasons. Coincidentally, my friend who loves summer has a house full of bold colors (but fairly neutral walls in different shades of white) and my friend who loves winter has darker walls and furniture with lots of rich textiles in plums, wines, golds and dark greens. OP, my vote is for you to pick your wood tones and textile colors first, based on what makes you happy and go backwards from there to decide on your wall color. For me, just starting with a trendy color like gray would feel cold and limiting. I like more warmth and choosing fabrics before paint pointed me right in that direction. |
