| I’ve seen quite a few college campuses and nothing beats the Union terrace on the lake in Madison or the walk up Bascom Hill. |
| Agree on Wisconsin—beautiful campus in a great city. |
| Agree with the Ole Miss posters. It may not be an outstanding school. But the campus is by far the most beautiful I’ve seen in the US. |
| Denison (in Ohio) is a cute little school |
| Agreed on elon - a charming campus and it's not too far away from raleigh |
| Kenyon, Sewanee |
| +1 Madison |
The buildings at Wisconsin are nothing special. Bascom, in particular, is underwhelming. It looks a bit like it could be a prison in New York or Pennsylvania. |

Can someone rank these in terms of beauty?
UVA William and Mary Virginia Tech JMU GMU VCU Mary Washington |
UVA W&M VT JMU Mary Washington VCU GMU |
Disagree. There isn't a single style, but it is eclectic Chicago House, generally over the course of 100 years. And Bascom is as good as any "quad" in the US, and the hill itself has wonderful views. Everyone has a different threshold, but Madison and UW are universally praised for being one of the best campuses and university settings in the country. |
| Not to mention that Madison is one of the great college towns in the US. As much fun as you want to have. |
Not saying it's not a good school or that you can't have a good time there. The campus, however, isn't even close to being among the most beautiful in the US. |
Strange. I live there and love it. Beautiful scenary. Great views. Superb golfing. UVA is often listed as most beautiful campus in the US and is the only american university on the UNESCO world heritage site. Lots to do and things to see. |
JMU is cut in half by I81. That alone should drop it to the bottom |
