Revolver and a small Glock handgun found in hotel room of person detained in connection to shooting, sources say

From CNN's Chief Law Enforcement Analyst John Miller
A revolver and a small Glock handgun with a laser sight attached were found in the hotel room of the person detained in connection to the Brown University shooting, according to multiple federal law enforcement sources.

The person detained is a male, law enforcement sources say.

Authorities traced the person of interest to the hotel in Coventry, Rhode Island. According to the sources, law enforcement banged on the door ordering him to open up.

Once inside, they asked where the person had been that day and evening. He responded he was there in the hotel the whole time.

I guess we should ban revolvers

Why not? If you want to hunt, get a bow and arrows like a real man.
Yeah defend your family with a a bow and arrow.

It is more likely your family is harmed by its own gun either via an accidental shooting or suicide attempt, than an intruder.

How often are you needing to "defend" your family? Is this some made up hero fantasy you have? Aren't there other more productive ways you can help your family?

Someone earlier mentioned that the POI had a connection to Brown. The paragraph below from the Washington Post seems to bear that out. It quotes a neighbor in the neighborhood where the POI grew up.

“Ehlers said he did not know Benjamin Erickson well because his children were in different social circles, but said he would say hello when he saw Ehlers in the neighborhood. Ehlers said he heard Erickson was going to Brown but did not know what he was studying.”

But I would think Brown would know if he was a student there. They put out he wasn’t
Anonymous
He had claimed on LinkedIn to be a Fall 2025 transfer after serving, but school saying not a student or current student (forget exact words), so unknown what happened if he true.
Anonymous
Maybe he got rejected and that’s his motive to kill Brown students.

Be prepared.

It's like having insurance, but get trained too.

I think he might have had delusions. He told people he was studying at Brown in 2025, but he wasn’t. Not enrolled. He was living in DC.

You think having guns is like having car or home insurance?

Well, at least gun ownership could come with licensing, insurance, inspection, registration, taxes, and all the similar requirements. Since they're similar and all, according to you.
