| Vent: why do they always put the larger women ("full-figured") into strapless dresses and insist that look is flattering on them? I'm talking the women with huge breasts. The strapless top always hangs way down, exposing practically their whole chest. Why not a dress with some kind of straps or sleeves to hold it up? It drives me crazy how clueless they are. |
| It's not just the show. Sleeves/straps are just starting to make a comeback after a 20 year hiatus. I have hated the strapless wedding dress trend. Strapless gowns look terrible on 95% of brides. Basically, anyone who has an ounce of excess flesh on her upper body. |
| Never mind that. Am I the only one who finds those see through corset Pnina dresses trashy as all get out? |
No, you're in good company. |
Nope. I think they're trashy too. I'm always surprised how many brides ask for them and how many family members say they love them. They're just awful. |
|
I'm shocked at how much $$$ people with seemingly low incomes spend on wedding dresses.
|
Another good point. Maybe it's all fake and the show pays for the gowns, but if not, I agree that it is a foolish waste of money for people who probably do not have a lot of it socked away. |
| +1 Coming from a person with large breasts, you need a good supportive bra, not a worthless strapless one. |
OP here: totally agree. Another SYTTD vent!! So, so trashy. |
| My friend saw Monty from SYTTD Atlanta in DC yesterday, so if you see him, you can share your thoughts. |
|
I'm a larger woman and there are styles you can wear that are more flattering than strapless. I've seen several shows where the bride is short/chunky (like me) and she is obsessed with wearing a mermaid type dress. It just makes the poor bride look like a barrel.
I dont get why brides love those Pnina gowns. To me it looks like as if Fredericks of Hollywood decided to design wedding dresses. |
| I have seen a few Penina dresses that I think are lovely, but I agree most look trashy. She found something that worked and then went crazy trying to work in the same gimmick everywhere. |
Yes, I can't believe when the parents say they love those dresses! Maybe they're appropriate for some venues, but I can't imagine someone walking down a church aisle in one. On another board, those dresses are referred to as "stripper fairy" dresses. Perfect description, I think. |
| I really don't get the women who want to look sexually provocative in their wedding gowns. |
|
I don't know but I love that show. You wouldn't think that wedding gowns would be so entertaining but they are!
I agree that some of those Pnina dresses are a bit out there, but it's fun to see other women try them on and even more interesting to see them actually BUY them. What a hoot! |
