Imagine all that and then remember that Acosta was given a cabinet position.

How does Acosta sleep at night? Just another sociopath? Paid off? Guilty himself? F everyone who was in the position to enforce the law on these monsters and didn’t.

Acosta was a brazen careerist who believed two things - that abuse of teen girls isn’t actually abuse; and that if he was easy on Epstein is would be good for his political career. The only thing that has changed is that it is now marginally less tenable to abuse women/girls and get away with it. But make no mistake, careerists everywhere (of both parties) constantly let major crimes slide by because they want to keep their jobs and get promoted.

The Miami Herald article linked above says he didn’t think the victims were “credible” enough to support a prosecution. Never mind that there were literally dozens telling the same story. There’s nothing they could do to make someone like Acosta find them credible.

Which, yeah, really does translate to “they don’t have any right to object to what happened.” Because you know he has to KNOW something happened. “Not credible” is just the explanation that has traditionally been socially accepted. But he knew crimes did happen, he just didn’t CARE.

+1. The girls were *children* as young as 14 (that we know of). There is no credibility issue that excuses that unless you (like Epstein!) believe that it is actually OK to have sex with teenage girls.

MAGA seems to have no respect for women or girls so this would not surprise me. We need the files RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One was 11. These people are sick. Acosta and Bondi are just as evil as Epstein, Maxwell, and their “clients”.

So sick and evil.

Anyone else hear the story of a female staff member of Epstein’s early on who alerted police after Trump leered at her said something about her age and thinking she was “for him”.

1. Because republicans control the committee and they won’t bring in someone who has nothing to lose.

2. She was a Cuban-American lawyer in south Florida who wanted to make a career. That means toeing the Republican line. Clearly a line prosecutor wouldn’t have the authority to cut this deal, but she was the patsy who put her name on the paper in the hopes that the Cuban American GOP legal clique (Acosta) would reward her. In other words, careerist BS.

3. This may end up pointing back to former AG Michael Mukasey. He is deeply involved in Trump world, is from the Bronx. He could be implicated

What would Charlie do?

No, but that wouldn’t be surprising. People have a bad habit of ignoring women and girls who report inappropriate/threatening behavior.

USTA wouldn’t let me report a parent that sat behind my kid’s side of the court and swore insults at her to help his kid win a match unless I included my name and address. In order for it to be (potentially) addressed, I had to give a guy with every red flag of being a violent abuser my name and address. Thanks, USTA. Why DoNT woMeN RePorT it?

Charlie would release the files. It was one of the last things he asked for.
