What is on-trend for kitchens?

Anonymous
Moving to a new house, and will be remodeling ours in the next year or so. I love a white kitchen--just curious to know what is "current"? FWIW, I currently have a 90s style black-granite with tan cabinets, and I'm over it.

I think it's "in", but I detest the kitchens with two different colors for the cabinets. White on the wall cabinets and some other color for the island. It just looks mismatched and wrong to me.

Hardwood floors in the kitchen are trendy and I love the practicality of it.

Hardly practical if the DW leaks even once.

Lol. Dishwasher not wife.

Painted cabinets are very on-trend at the moment. A shade of gray seems to be most popular.

Thank you for the laugh out loud! Boy did I need that tonight!

I know it's just me loving maximum efficiency, but I like the ease of no doors on the upper cabinets. The practicality is amazing if you cook a lot.

Also, for under the counters, there should be all (except obviously under the sink) drawers, not cabinets. Too much reaching way back, with cabinets.

Corner cabinets have lazy susans so it's easy to reach back.

Kick drawers under the cabinets for pet food bowls and other storage.

Long thin cabinet for baking pan/ cutting board storage.

Spice storage inside the cabinet door.

Pantry cabinets with sliding drawers.

Garbage disposal that operate by push button by sink not wall or under the counter switch.

Double sided cabinets on any island between kitchen and dining room.

Pocket doors for utility/ storage areas.

Drawers with auto close.

Open cabinets without doors are so ugly.

Cabinets in all space - eg cabinet with lift up door above fridge to store party platters.

2 islands.

ALL drawers for the undercabinets. We have that now and it's amazing.

Agree on the drawers, but I think open uppers only look good in magazines - too hard to keep organized & pretty.

I like less upper cabinets, for a more open space. White cabinets. Chrome, nickel or brass fixtures. Hardwood floors. Quartz countertops, marble is always in. Subway tile or marble in a pattern backsplash.

I did this too but regret it terribly. There is just not enough storage space for me compared to cabinets.

How?? We have several completely empty drawers. We had 20 cabinets though and a walk in pantry to store more.

I thought that's what DW stood for.

Well, obviously we have a lot more cookware, bakeware and dishes than you.
